Hey guys,
Thought I would stick a post up. Got pinballs on a slate floor and decided that the playing area needed some softer matts to stand on. Putting in a couple of hour sessions started to hurt the old running treads. Converted some high res images to illustrator .ai files. Tweaked the designs in illustrator. Sent them off for printing - Cost me about $91 for the three.
I left the CFTBL and ACDC as stock from some promo pics - but the Addams is an original design.
Happy to hear any feedback - or whether anyone else has done anything similar.
-
Very cool mate. They look great. Well done ^^^
-
I personally think they look tacky, but respect the imagination and effort to do something different.
-
They look good especially for the dollars paid, can you post up where they were printed

Sure can - http://www.aussiecustomgifts.com/diy/doormat/large-doormat-383
The quality actually came back quite good. Actually better then expected for the price. Due to the floor -and the fact I don't want to suffer another winter standing on cold slate - they serve their purpose excellently.

It is located in a bar area - that has crap over all the walls - so they actually just blend into the background. To be quite honest ...
But ultimately I was going to get something - and the bunnings variety of door matts was doing nothing for me - and definitely would have upped the tackey meter by a factor of 10.
For those that want to dip their toes in the water make sure that you picture is scaled properly. What I mean is, make sure that you have a design program that can actually save the file to real world dimensions. Blowing a crappy 128kb jp file up to that size is going to pixelate it to hell. The files I used are actually all vectorised so they can be adjusted to whatever image size I wanted - then saved off in real world dimensions - in jpg for the upload. example - my jpg files dimensions was 24L x 16W inches - so what I saw was what I got.
If anyone needs any help - just message me.

They look great, I might get a couple made with photos of me for the wife. I always tell her she treats me lime a door mat %.%
-
Sorry "lime" was meant to read 'like'. Bloody iPad again

I think they look great. Excellent work.

I want to get some for my pins "Elektra", "Stargate" and "Avengers". But I never knew where to get them done or how to do them.
Your mats look great.
-
I think you have done a great job. In the right room they will look great. Sounds like you got them done pretty cheaply too.
I've got this one for my GNR:

Something different, and keep your feet warm ^^^
-
I love them! My Pins are on tiles and I will need to get some too.
-
Where can I get some high res pictures for TZ, Baywatch and Theater of Magic?
-
Mate - just search in google image search. Then click on search tools (underneath the search area) - Click on size - Larger then - 4MP. That should be able to return some images to use - or begin playing with.
-
Thanks, did not know you could search by size. Found some anyway. All of the high res were back glass images.
-
Think outside the box and put something together. Doesn't have to a back glass image. Search for twilight zone. There are great black and white images that would fit the theme quite we'll. Even the lettering would great with that machine.
-
I received mine just in time before Christmas. I stayed conservative and used the back glass image. I really like them and they will keep my feet warm in winter!
-
They came up great. Good job.

*sigh - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pinball-Floor-Mat-Twilight-Zone-/231117317108?pt=AU_CoinOp&hash=item35cfaa63f4&_uhb=1 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pinball-Floor-Mat-Twilight-Zone-/231117317108?pt=AU_CoinOp&hash=item35cfaa63f4&_uhb=1) I am not sure that selling them on ebay without a proper copyright licence to do so - is a super great idea.
-
I do not think there are copyrights issues for a single item for sale. It's not that I am selling them by the dozen as a commercial enterprise.
-
What are these made out of? Rubber? I find my legs get sore and tired after extended play times
-
Back is rubber and front is fabric. Overall not very thick but better than standing on tiles.
