what about throwing some gold on the playfield with the black colour ? (black n gold together could look great)

it's coming along really well.  ^^^

Yet more stuff:

(1) Black ramp (under the step decals is clear to allow for lamps)
(2) Close up of custom "Itt & What" decal on ramp switch cover
(3) Black Stern rails w/- guards fitted (required minor adjustments)
(4) Badass 8" 4 ohm Sub ex my CFTBL for TAFB cabinet. (I bought a full Pin Pro kit, but decided to install it in my CFTBL because its music is far superior to TAF)

Thanks Cavey, the gold idea would be great, especially with a set of TAF Gold cabinet decals installed.
Sadly, cost & availabilty (decals) is a problem. Also how much patience I have left for this project is another factor.

Cheers

hey, what about a set of GOLD legs. Check out the link below.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150688387829?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D150688387829%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

I think Mark has some as well.  A set of GOLD legs might set it off real well with GOLD wire ramps. Worth a look, cheap way to bling it up bigtime ?

Oh i KNOW this feeling!! Often finishing a project is an act of self discipline, but once its all together, it makes everything worthwhile 10 fold

The apron looks great!
I think the original should have had the green and red of the roses as standard.

Did the stern siderails fit without modification?

Did the stern siderails fit without modification?

Hi John

The actual Stern rails themselves screw on without any modification (using the flipper buttons for alignment in the existing rail holes)
However, this leaves a small gap of about 1/8" between the plastic glass guide and the rail itself at the front of the machine. This gap tapers off to nil at the backbox end. I found the gap virtually unnoticeable when the glass is installed.
N.B. To successfully fit the lockdown bar, I found it necessary to judiciously cut & file about 1/8" steel out of the two "tongues" that go down through the lockdown mechanism. This overcame the extra 1/8" spacing problem & works perfectly.
The only way I can see around this method would be to re-position the flipper button holes on the cabinet, this struck me as too much trouble.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi John

I got the Blank format from "Balls of Steel" sadly, WMS made him shut that site down.
If you like, I can email you the image if you PM me with your addy. It's 322 Kb in JPEG.
I normally open it in Photoshop & type in the details.

That's actually quite funny (if ya don't have white hair  ^.^)
Thanks for the compliment young fella.

Now the fiddly part or perhaps piddly fart? Has begun with hand brushed black (see pics)
More fun to come because the mortar lines will be tuck pointed white.
P.S. The red arrowed & circled bit is to remind me to touch up the cracking.

yeh, its starting to look real good.

perhaps buy a set of addams family gold decals from that phoenix guy in the USA and this machine will go right off for sure. Its going to be amazing from what u have done to date. maybe some blacklight lights (like on viper night drive) with some black n silver spiral balls and the whole thing will look the goods for sure. either way, i think u have started a black addams family trend.  ^^^

Finished tuck pointing masonry with white paint (pic)

Now it's time to effect all the very fine touch ups on the P/F, especially the Mansion.
Luckily said Mansion is in great nick and doesn't need insert decals or an overlay.
After all that, I reckon I'll down tools and have a f**king coffee break.

Hope to add more pics later when the P/F comes back from my mate Marco the wizard clearcoater.

Minutiae:

(3) Custom plaque nailed on below shooter housing
(4) Low pass filter inductor coil (value calculated thanks to Dzeidzik's site)

P/F ready to go for clear coating.

Snuggled in an adjustable box - one size fits all?
This protects the under P/F goodies and keeps overspray out of the works too.

Now I just have to wait for it to come back, which is generally the hardest part  ((( (((

Update:

P/F Back on the rotisserie after returning from the clearcoater dude.
Just need to wire up the pop bumper LEDs, fit the ramp & wireform, make a few adjustments and . . .
Fester's your uncle :D

(1) Nice & shiny.
(2) Blackened metal lamp bracket & bolted on a switch cover.
(3) New black wafers in the graveyard.
(4) To cap it all off . . .

At last it's all back in one piece & playing beautifully $#$
Had a couple of technical issues resolved by a very good friend.
Final physical & cosmetic tweaks completed.
Added two separate reflectorised lamps on posts to illuminate the left ramp diverter and thing's box area.
Finally fixed the notorious TAF problem of balls derailing from the cross playfield wireform by brazing on a pair of upper rails. Satin blacked the whole thing along with the apron wire rail to match.

Incredible!

This guy has gone diametrically opposite and created a TAF WHITE?
Wonder if he started with a factory whitewood or did all that work to strip it? Lots of custom clear plastics too.
Looks like good job. Pity there seem to be no further details via U-Tube, I'd love know if it's a work in progress and see some clearer pics of work to date.

Thanks for posting the vid.

The final? piece of my TAF Black conversion added yesterday.

Full colour DMD from Color DMD's LLC.
Absolutely AWESOME!  $#$ $#$ $#$
Professional build, really well packed and fully documented.
Considering all the program/code work on top of this I reckon it's great value.
Glad I was on the ordering list - seems they have sold out  everywhere (as with previous models)
Easy to fit & even lights the T-H-I-N-G letters below the DMD.

SHOWTIME!
