Avatar in production again?
« on: January 24, 2013, 11:23:38 PM »
I was just on the stern website and I saw the Avatar  in the current titles section.
Does this mean that they are doing another run of them, or am I seeing things *!@

If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.

I'm surprised it out sold IM and Tron. I have an Avatar and quite like the game, but I didn't think there would be enough demand to produce more.

Excuse my ignorance but I never played nor ave seen an avatar but wasnt it considered a flop. This is one title I would not have had any problems getting passed the wife but I heard very little interest in it. So if i am correct why the rerun?

Maybe we should rerun the Leyland P76
Still loving my Metallica Premium

Avatar 2 will be out in cinemas Christmas 2014 and Avatar 3 will be out in 2015.
Stern wants to ride on the anticipated release in cinemas.

You really need to play a game and make your own decision, not let others decide for you. It doesn't get any love from many at all, but i enjoy the game.

Avatar will be big money spinner over the next few years.
Why, you can even put you face on big movie posters of Avatar, Iron Man and Lord of the Rings.
Imagine your games room displaying famous posters with your own eyes beaming down on everyone.

Ironman was not a very popular title when it was first released ,its only know a few years later that it has become popular.
Avatar while not a collectors first choice is very popular with first time/family buyers ,if you place Ironman and Avatar side by side Avatar presents so much better with the colours and translite,as far as playabilty there is not much between them

Totally correct. Avatar is a very family friendly game with the artwork n colours working really really well and it looks awesome with added chromework. There are quite a few collectors in Australia who have them as well. I know 4 different people just on the Gold Coast alone who have them, and they have said they are keepers and have had them since new with no desire to sell cause they loved the movie and they really enjoy the pinball.

Gameplay is fun and the dmd annimations are excellent, as well as the audio.
Avatar is a pin i definately want to add to my collection.
I think its great Stern is starting to do reruns of alot of past titles. Smart marketing and if it satisfys buyers who missed out before, thats a great thing.
Behind every garage door could be a pinball collectors

Because they are making two more movies does this mean that stern might be taking the easy way out and use the Avatar trilogy for their "answer" to the Hobbit?
