Title: Your first pin
Post by: silverball on August 25, 2009, 02:39:20 PM
What was your first pin and do you still have it?

Mine first pin was Funhouse and yes I still have it. Cannot see myself selling it, unless a better example turns up.

My first was a KingPin.  Was at my old house and had that - sold for a video game.  Wish I didn't but it was a bit rough.

Time Warp.

Lives at a mate's place now, wouldn't sell it and glad someone is having fun with it.

Is that the King Pin I bought from Rollerball? Even though its rough I wont be parting with it. Plays like a new machine now that the electrics have been adjusted and cleaned.

My first pin was Freedom, and yes I would love to own it again.

I can't recall !

The first Pin I have a memory of was a Gottlieb "Show Boat". This would have been in the early 70's.

Most pins I have I "inherited" - The first I "paid for" was a "Future Spa" - I sold it after reconditioning it 7 years ago.

The Shadow,

Just had a game on it.  Dont plan on selling.
2nd Pin I bought, bought it for Dad Williams Blue chip EM

3rd, Elvira
4th, My First EM, Spanish Eyes. (bought Last week) (though in better condition then Blue chip, so the old man might want to trade)
5,6,7 (made an offer on 3 (as a package), but believe one of the 3 has been promised)  so probably wont eventuate.

TZ - I still have it and will keep it.  After putting so much effort into getting it right, it's hard to consider letting it go.  And I still really like the game.

Williams Blue Chip about 5 years ago .. still have it .

My virgin pin was Rollerballs roadshow which given it's beautiful condition made it a tall order to match condition wise. It certainly set the standard for pins that I am after.

Have no intention of selling it as it forms part of my three way talking heads pinball attack, Roadshow, Funhouse and Party Zone. How many other pins have talking heads?

My first also DE Star Trek 25th. but I still have it. Have purchased and sold since, but I can not bring myself to get rid of this one, probably cause I eventually want the other 2 ST machines to go with it fone day.

Not obviously up there with the best machines, but i still enjoy having a crack on it.

Gottlieb Black Hole.
Got it at auction for $450 as " easily repairable" yeah right!!

But me and my brother spent a bit of time on it , did the Marvin's mods and fixes and basically got it running ok, it just needs de mylaring and Cab respray now.

Wont get rid of it as it is the cornerstone in my GTB Sytem 80 collection.

Yep . The cab and playboard are from that game . The PF and BG from that game are now in the cab I sold to Mark (member name Pict on here).
I recently gave my machine a complete mechanical overhaul and it is plays really well now *%*.

I still haven't managed to clock it though .. closest I've ever come is 980,xxx .. and nowhere near that ever since.

Black Knight (1980) was my first pin. And no i no longer have it.
I bought it back in 1988 for $450. The dick head i was living with stuffed it up on me. one of the wires broke off the coin switch so he tried to put a credit up on it by touching the wire that broke off the coin switch on to one of the flipper wires. That totally killed the cpu board. then i left it with another mate to look after and he shifted house but left it behind. !!! !!!
don't know what ever happened to it.

First pin was a T2 in 1993 or 1994 for just under $1800. Still have it (Sorry I forgot that I'd already posted something ont he thread)

But hey look at the investment oppotunity people keep going on about on ebay. 1993 @ $1800, 2009 @ say $2500 that's $700 bucks over 16 years nearly 40% increase @ 2.5% P/A not a good investment but heaps of fun

First pin - Gottlieb Aquarius. Bought it at the Sydney Luna Park auction. Still got it. It has been through thick and thin. Nearly got rid of it, instead Mrs Bossninja talked me into getting it repaired, led to meeting up with Michael Shaloub and before I know it I've got 6 more Gottlieb EMs and, as they say, the rest is history.
