Hi Guys I know it's not pinball but thought some of you might enjoy seeing it I recently picked up a game had no idea what it was but it had a tank and I had to have it.
Turns out it's a New Zealand built game roughly late 50s early 60s and was a very limited game approx 30 games made with 4 coming to Australia mine is number 28
Game is pretty rough someone had started a restoration on it. The original photo only showed the door but thankfully it was more complete than the photo shower only thing missing is the coin slot and the glass

All the usual stuff with these the cabinets coming apart the front door is made of ply and was coming apart cabinet was also missing the centre timber that holds the game section in place. I started by making the missing piece purely so it would all sit together as a complete game

Then discovered it looks like it was originally painted blue hammer tone paint as under the paint was raw timber which makes the job nice and simple (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170129/99256498640ac79bdeeb0d9959791b1d.jpg)
Cabinet was all re glued holes filled and sanded ready for paint and the front door stripped and the ply glued and clamped several times hopefully it's got to sand and paint tomorrow but I'll find out in the morning.
The playfield was cleaned with novus and so were the plastic rails that the coin rolls along everything else was washed adjusted and reinstalled

Also re glued the jet onto the mech that drops the coin this was wrapped up
Inside the coin box (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170129/2a2b0180ec0b42afae6d2e018109f153.jpg)
Cleaned up the chrome as best I could by hand my buff is still out with my car which sucks lol. But it cleaned up pretty well, I might eventually get this redone but I'll see how it looks when it's done.

Came up ok still needs a piece of glass but it's in one piece and working again (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170130/ff5193333d15f0a79df688a6442fdc0e.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170130/fadd04cddb638b86df2e36aeb46b5414.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170130/a4d72000833a159b923ec446b2e21b5d.jpg)
The switch set up is dodgy as hell and needs some updating to make it reliable but here's a video of it in action and a seperate one to show what it should do when you get the tank

Well done mate. Bringing back these pieces from the dead is a rewarding process for both yourself and for us to view the finished restoration. Can't wait until I pop over.. soon..

Oh my - I remember playing one of these as a tiny kid!

That's why I love the stuff that was operated here in the day hoping people remember playing them and if you remember this it was apparantly one of 4 that came to Australia

That would be quite a coincidence, I wonder if it is what I recall? As soon as I saw it I was positive I remembered it somewhere, still sure of it.

that is a weird game

What's the aim of the game? How does one play?

Hi Daniel.
Nice work on this very rare game. ^^^
Have you looked at any options to replace the tank's gun?
Wonder if a tank model kit, of the appropriate scale, could be used for parts.

Very nice mate!

Knocked up a stand for the tank busters these are usually wall games but I don't have any walls and mounting them is far to permanent these stands are on wheels and have built in storage. Behind them

Found a similar tank on US eBay but can't justify the $$$ might make some kind of gun for it but I can see it break pretty quick lol

never seen this type of games , typical for australia ?
what a beautiful restoration !!!!
how do you play the tank game ?

Sorry upgraded my phone and don't have the video on this one.
Basically you insert the penny push the left button to release it. It rolls down the tracks and with the right button you decide when to let the penny drop. If you get it In the tank a light and alarm sounds until you push the bottom button to return your coin
