Title: Not Coin Operated But Still Pretty Cool
Post by: ddstoys on December 09, 2012, 10:22:30 PM
The wife grandfather passed away the other week and my father in law spotted this in his shed while cleaning up and thought it would look good in my collection.

HE WAS RIGHT I LOVE IT.

Wasn't working but didnt take to long to get it sorted someone has stripped a cog by owner winding it so aslong as the cog stays in its new home it should be right.

VERY cool toy, sometimes the simplest technologies are often the most impressive  ;-)

Great score.

I wonder if it can be dated by checking to see when the musical-harp inside were no longer used on toys?
I remember a lot of my relatives having musical nicknacks from the 60's onwards and even my sisters dancing ballerina jewellery box in the 70's amongst other girl/musical toys...

I have one of these.  Will see if I can find it and take some pics.  Mine is a different colour from memory.
