Title: Stern Trident Random Reset
Post by: Boots on June 12, 2011, 07:40:59 PM
Hey guys, thought I might share a problem I had with my uncle's Trident today.
He initially had a problem where one of his drop targets broke, so I went around to replace it for him.
It's a bit difficult to get to the drop target bank on the Trident because it's righ at the back of the playfield.
Once I got it all back together again we played a few games and it was resetting intermitently.
I though it was a slam switch but they all looked ok.
Anyway I eventually found a diode on the back of the target bank was bent over and nearly/just touching the one next to it.
Once I straightened it out, no more resets.
Has anyone had this happen before?

No, but it is a possiblity.  Have a look at the schematics and see if there is a slam switch in the same row/column as the shorted diode.

cheers
