Apollo 13 flipper problem
« on: April 18, 2012, 01:14:19 PM »
Guys,

Playing the Apollo 13 today when I had the left flipper button in the flipper bat keeps going up and down very fast any ideas? I had a quick look underneath but could not see anything obvious?

Hey Jeff,

Firstly, with power off and machine unplugged from wall -  visually inspect the diodes on the flipper coil  Make sure they have not broken off or become dislodged.

Also visually inspect the EOS switch - normally closed from memory.

Next check the fuses on the flipper board (from memory is lower left corner of backbox).  It may be the fuse clips (check by gently pressing on the glass fuse.  IF the fues clips bend then they are finished.

It could also be a transistor on the flipper board, but just check the simple things first..

Hey Marty,

Thanks I tried everything you mentioned and whilst I had the playfield up it started to work properly for a minute, then I put it down and same again, the flipper stays up but vibrates when I hold the flipper button and if I move the EOS switch it stops vibrating but flipper won't stay up??
