Excellent, to see the list Gav. Thanks. ^^^

Well done Gav. Excellent to see great products available from an Aussie seller.
-
I've used Gav's Firepower and Joker Poker stencils - first class product.
-
Great titles as a starter Gav. I played 13 of those to death in my younger years.
I am seriously contemplating on building a full size VP one of these days and the Firepower stencil is a classic that never ages. Love the curves and conbination of red and yellow on black.
Good luck and I know you are fussy with value and quality.

excellent list there Gav

Ooh and don't forget Asteroid Annie in the future please Gav.
I know you are a busy man but I would always be happy to help taking pics of any machines I have here for future releases.

Pretty sure i had discussions with Nick about making stencils for the header... would gladly add it to the list at some point.

I've used Gavin's stencils for Pro Football and Eight Ball. They are much better than the other manufacturer's that sell them. Fathom is next, and then a Genie !
I think you have High Hand as well Gav ?
-
don't forget surf champ as well
-
HIGH HAND - dont have but do have access to the machine again.
SURF CHAMP - on the list to do

Gavs stencils are fantastic and easy to use, I used a set on a Volley I restored, and took step by step photos if anyone is interested: http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=6311.0 (http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=6311.0)

All good - has since left the area near my computer and is boxed and ready to go..

Very broad question I know, but what sort of hours and cost is involved in having a game repainted ?
-
Please put Gottlieb Sinbad on your 'to do' list please

Difficult to answer due to variables such as the condition of the cabinet, the type of paints, the preparation and of course the quality of the stencils.
You can eliminate the quality of the stencils by using Gavin's products. His stencils are accurate and faithful to the originals. The Fathom I repainted does has small differences from the original, but it is correct in terms of the application of the colors. If you look at the USA based stencil provider is is completely wrong. So you are battling "uphill" from the start.
The cabinet needs to be straight and also structurally sound. MOST of the Ballys I restore need a new back panel as it is not plywood, but chipwood.
Paints - I would advise a professional setup, but it can be done with spay cans. The results might not be the same.
Preparation - Sanding, filling, fine filling, sanding, priming, sanding, filling, priming, base coat and then stencil application. This is where 95% of the time is spent. Just aligning the Fathom stencils took me 2 hours, so it had to be lined up within 2 mm each side.
It sounds like a huge and expensive undertaking. Doing a simple game like Ice Review uses the same principles and processes, but it takes minutes to apply stencils.
A simple cabinet would be just under $1000.
More complex would be $1000 - $1600.
Not all games would be the same. I dread the day I have to do my Xenon.. That would be the toughest.
-
Speaking of Xenon, are these available from you Gav?
-
Please put Gottlieb Sinbad on your 'to do' list please
Its a long list, but ill add it

Absolutely.. if people don't want them then there's no point in me making them...

I was just looking at my Xenon cabinet and understand where your coming from. Very detailed Indeed.

I ended up buying a set from a US supplier because I didn't want Gav to go through the tedious process. The set I bought is utter rubbish. I will be spending a lot of time "fixing" it "if" I ever bother using it.

Just to make people aware that gavs stencils are great in quality and registration and very easy to line up using the "+" registration marks.
Wont be disappointed. Thanks Gav.

Bally Star Trek? Please add to your list Gav

If I had a machine that you wanted a stencil of, what would be the best way to give it to you?
Scans of the machine itself or just good pictures of the cabinet?

- Good SQUARE on pictures will suffice... I cant stress enough that you need to as parallel to the cabinet etc as you possible can... if I have to start skewing a picture than everything starts to go out of alignment.
Good pictures and accurate measurements.. I can make stencils with

Bally
Star Trek
Paragon
Embryon
Evel Knievel
Xenon @@^

Bally
Star Trek...... yep
Paragon.... 6 hrs to do the front stencil.. not looking forward to the cab sides!
Embryon....Doesn't look too bad, reckon I could knock this one out in a full day
Evel Knievel.. Again not too bad.. need a day to do
Right now I don't have any time to make any stencil files as the last 2 weeks have been full on with work and making artwork for customers.. don't think its going to carry me right through to Xmas though and so im hoping to start making files again then
