BALLY CORVETTE REBUILD

Finally decided id post a rebuild ive been so busy lately i keep forgetting to take pics but ill see what i can find from this machine.

   As with all PSPAs machines they have every globe and coil sleeve replaced with brand new.
  All playfield parts are removed cleaned polished and replaced if necessary
  All under playfield Mechs are removed dissasembles then coils, brackets etc all cleaned and reassembled with new coil sleeves and any damaged parts replaced or repaired as neccesary.
  All inserst are cleaned from underneath
  All insert lightboards an twist sockets are all stripped washed dried then the pins reflowed
  Underside of the playfield is cleaned as best possible all looms are blown with compressed air to remove as much dust etc as possible
 All stainless guides, ramps steel posts are removed then hand polished with Mr sheen and fine steel wool
 All screws bolts and nuts are polished before being reinstalled
 Cabinet is vacuumed and wiped
 Translite is stripped glass, Translite and trims are all cleaned before being put back together
 Driver board has GI and any other suspect pins and plugs replaced capacitors and bridge rectifiers replaced any faults repaired  and voltages checked
All fuses are removed tested and correct values installed
All boards are tested and repaired as needed
Each switch and coil is tested along with all Gi and insert lights 
Payfield is cleaned then polished with novus before being repopulated 
This is just some of the workdoento these machines

The condition varies from Pin to Pin this one was fairly tidy to begin with.

Here it is stripped to almost a bare playfield before any ceaning has begun

This is why the inside of the inserts need to be cleaned  *!@

And all the mechs removed from the underside of the playfield ready for there rebuild and some of the mechs laid out on the pool table work bench LOL

Here is the Mech for the shaking motor a very cool feature but pain in the ass to rebuild this one had two cooked coils that needed replacing everything had to be pieced back together in certain ways or it wouldnt go back togethher ill be paying more attention when i pull it apart if i ever do one again LOL

And sadly i got stuck into the rebuild and forgot to take any more progress photos but luckily as i was packing it up for the drive back to melobourne i remember and grabbed a couple of finished photos !@)

this is one of my favorite pins in my collection, hey did both corvette's run up and down the dragstrip ok, as one of my cars has stopped, thinking its most probbaly a faulty opto?
