How about a decent band that isn't old and boring, that would be a refreshing change.

Queens of the Stone Age or Them Crooked Vultures.
Shame Foo Fighters are less active.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

Plenty of current acts to consider (not that I would like them seen made)

Muse
Cold Play
Greenday
Chilli peppers
Etc etc

However none of which would appeal in large numbers to the 40+ demographic.

One Direction  @@^

The only bands worth mentioning are the legendary bands with huge followings. Iron Maiden are still MASSIVE and headlining Arenas around the world. Foo Fighters are a band you could think about in 10 years from now. That's if they still have the fanbase. Led Zeppelin, KISS, Queen, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Springsteen, Pink Floyd - these are the acts that have been around longer (hence "old and boring" ), but they have the track record to warrant a pinball.

I'd personally love a Dream Theater Pinball because musically, they have no peers (that's my opinion - and sonically, they are the tightest band on the planet). but here fanbase, although loyal, are nowhere near the bigger acts.

I love Music pinballs - it is a GREAT idea (except when you make a CRAP machine like Rolling Stones) - but not everyone has to like them  ^^^

As you say none of those themes would sell well.

During 1995, it was during the flurry of the Pinball Wars when everyone was still trying to out do each other.

A Blockbuster of a movie for 1995 was JUMANJI starring Robin Williams and a young Kirsten Dunst with a blond Bonnie Hunt.

Williams did Congo in 1995, someone else could have done a great Jumanji Pinball.

If this movie was redone, or a sequel was added, this would be a great pinball title for Stern. Jumanji was a great movie. Imagine the toys n playfield n cabinet graphics of today.

Loved Motorhead back in the day, i had absolutely no idea what Lemy was singing but it sounded good to me.  ^^^

In saying that i think Motorhead would be to 'fast' for a pinball? Happy to be corrected here.  *%*

It would have to be a LOUD pinball as they once held the Guinness World Record for the "loudest band in the world". I think that record has since been broken a few times, but they did hold it for a while.

Just found a cool 2013 movie release starring Johnny Depp.

The Lone Ranger.

Johnny Depp plays Tonto. He has a crow/black bird on his head which looks cool and his make up looks the goods.

This Americana topic would make a great pinball. Could be some fascinating artwork.
