The original post (that was edited  !@#) can be retrieved once we work it out as we have never had the necessity to restore deliberately edited posts. I was hoping it would be on the Expo website, but Andrew has confirmed a lack of info. Hopefully Gav can shed some light on this.

It makes no difference if the original post was deleted... having spoken to the organisers the only news is that Expo WILL be happening in Sydney. The venue is yet to be confirmed as organisers are looking at various options including same venue, Hotel, University etc.
Certain structures of Expo 2009 will remain and others will be subject to change.
As news comes through, public announcements will be made.
Until then, this is all the information there is.... stay tuned!!!  ^^^ ^^^

So is there any hint that it will be in May? Or are we talking a different month?

As far as i know - May is still on the agenda.. it really boils down to the venue... last years was a bit small and got SO crowded. Organisers are looking for a better and bigger one - if this cant be found then same venue it is.
The deal is pretty much this.... if a bigger and better could be found - say a hotel where you could stay also but it was only available in June then event would be happening then.
There is honestly no more info regarding Expo other than this... as it happens it will be made public

OK, so patience is required!

Unfortunately that does not help with forward planning.

if it is only 2 or 3 months away, and no one has found a venue yet, it begs the question of how a wide variety of decent professional companies like mark c or rtbb or mr gilliard, or the pinball shed or other various great companies could take part and contribute on such short notice.  !@#
* the companies i have mentioned are just a fraction of the great people who i would love to see all together united for the sake of their and our pinball interests.

what the pinball industry needs, is a real good showing of many many companies which could showcase all the pinball professionals and really do justice to the hobby and business of it all. A good showing of all companies and all personalities will really bring this industry together. At the end of the day, it means more money and exposure to all the people who have invested so heavily in this business/pinball industry. And more and improved products and services for us all.

Who is on the committe ? who decides all the planning for the expo.? who makes all the decisions ?  By now, there should be a flood of info accross both the forums ? a lack of any in depth knowledge seems to spell a pretty ordinary event, if one even happens ? lets hope not. Hope something great happens soon.  ^^^

Getting all those people together under 1 roof is never going to happen and with all due respect, it's a bit naive to ever think it might happen.

Well it would seem some people don't know it or are living under a rock so I guess I just stated the obvious.  :2cents:
