WTB - Gtb The Amazing Spiderman (Found My SUPERMAN)
« on: September 24, 2009, 06:59:39 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have been chasing these machines for a while now but it is time to start looking a bit harder.  Wifey's favourite is my Hulk machine and I can actually get her to play it regularly and I know she would be more acceptable of these machines.

Don't mind getting my hands dirty but I would prefer something that is at least operational and maybe in need of a good shop job.

Thanks,
Blair

I thought there was a Superman on eBay recently ? These two titles are a little harder to find, but they do appear on eBay from time to time. If I hear of one being sold - I'll let you know.

Thanks Nino.

There was a Superman on eBay, I think it was in Geelong or thereabouts and went for a fair bit in the end.

Then there was the Spidreman that went for $755..........I'll shed a tear if I go on about that one......silly silly me for missing it.   ^&^

Thanks Tony.  He also had a Superman recently but it was way over my budget, I have a feeling that the Spidey may be the same.

Guys, I (well Santa in fact) am still looking for either of these machines.  Preference would be a Superman machine, I have a backglass for Superman in case it is needed, I just need a working machine at a reasonable price.

You just listed the three machines that I too would like to get hold of.
I love the look of the old Gottlieb's and add the fact these ones are superhero models too just tops it off.
Amazing Spiderman in particular is an awesome looking machine.

Good Luck

I'll let the pics tell the story.   $#$

Playfield is excellent.  Full mylar which is in great condition.  The line up the right hand side of the playfield is the join in the mylar.  I thought my Dredd had a widebody but it is nothing compared to this big sucker.  Typical things to re-build, tweak or just tidy up (like swap spinners over to the correct sides).  Right flipper is a bit lazy but everything else is pretty good.  Plastics are all good.

Backglass has had some sections covered in contact on the back which has stopped further damage but I think I will need to cut the score windows out.  I dare say I will seal it as well with a few light coats of triple thick just to be sure and cover what isn't covered with contact.  It still has great colour in the artwork though.

Cabinet is a bit flakey on one side and grotty but structurally it is fine.

Now just gotta find me that Gtb Spiderman machine.

Yeah I can't see him going anywhere for a while.  The machine is in pretty good condition and needs a little bit of tinkering here and there which is going to be fun.

If anyone has seen any NOS Atari pop bumper caps in their travels I be interested to hear about them.
