The Party Zone had a couple of inserts with no decals on them...so i just got a sheet of waterslide clear decal paper...my little windows paint program...printed them out...gave them a spray with clear coat and left them over night...then next day cut them out...Into the water for 2mins...slide off the backing paper and onto the inserts...to easy...Only I may change the control decal and make it a bit bigger and maybe change the font...easy to remove them...and the ones I put on the Firepower have lasted very well so far...

These water slide decals are very versatile aren't they. Good job
-
Very helpful technique - I guess this stuff is easy enough to use. Do you use laser or inkjet to print on to the decal sheet?
-
Hey Paul, where did you buy your waterslide decals from?
-
I got them from some place on the net..in Australia but not sure who they where now...but just search google and you will find some...works out about $2 a sheet of A4 size so not cheap but well worth it..
And just printed on my inkjet printer...but needs to be clear coated and dried before you put in water..

Very clever, Paul - Well Done !

Thanks guys, this should make fixing inserts or in fact whole playfield designs & logos on any machine providing you can get a good picture of the original.
I'd imagine you could apply these just before clear coating or mylar laying and you'd be right to go for the next decade or so.

That link is where I got mine from as well...
And yes i think you could do HEAPS of stuff using this method...I will always make sure Ive got a few sheets hidden away for touchups ect...

I bought some decal paper from these guys a month ago but havent tried any of it as yet. if i end up doing anymore playfields i plan on trying it.. mainly for any missing lettering is what i have in mind for it.

OK Rollerball- I have a job for you now !
-
Awesome stuff, just bought 10 x A4 sheets of the stuff for $30 including GST & delivery.
All of a sudden I feel good about my PF repairs, just gota make sure I have clear images & print them at the correct scale :)

Oh no what are you after Wotto..lol...
Im going to get some white backed waterslide decal paper as well as the clear...the clear was a bit harder to use for playfield touchups...and will keep the clear for insert work..
