Stern - X-Men Pinball (mid 2012)
« on: March 22, 2012, 12:09:25 PM »
I know the title suggests this is the next pin, but at the moment there are some strong rumours suggesting Avengers, Men In Black and Resident Evil. Some very recent leaks are suggesting it is Avengers and I am hoping so, and leaks are that it could be the next Borg design as well.

Therefore after searching the net I have found this little bit of info (posted only 4 hrs ago) from a guy who seems to know his stuff / in the loop as he leaked info of AC/DC photo shoot before offical photos were being released a little while back so he has some credit as at that stage he was told he could release some info but no photos when the AC/DC LE's were having their offical photo shoot.

Here is what he stated today:
"I know it has 3 flippers, kind of a reverse Tron layout. 2 ramps Pro, 2 1/2 ramps LE.
Avengers is my thoughts as the info, hints, intel whatever you call it I've got over the last 5 months. People say Stern doesn't release games at the time of a movie, BUT being Avengers I think this may be different. I say they use the Blu-Ray footage from Captain America, Iron Man 2, and Thor, PLUS all the Avengers trailers footage. So there is plenty to work from on this title. (my opinion on this) I hope it's got that MF'r Sam Jackson voiceovers in it

MIB is a rumor I know but I'm just not quite sold on that as the next title. Resident Evil may be down the line but not now.

The Pro is suppose to get ready to build end of April for overseas like the normal cycle of games production. I do know the official announcement will be in mid April or so.

DMD game, no LCD. I know for fact it is comic book related. So take that to the bank."

here is a photo of Steve Ritchie testing out a game - could it be the next game - testing / sharing his thoughts on the game. Also notice the purple glow on the apron...... isn't that the Avengers colour ?

I hope it isn't MIB or RE......I really hope it isn't one of those two.
Avengers is the right choice.

What about Prometheus, the Alien prequel due in June?
As much as I am looking forward to the Avengers film and possible pin, this looks like the best sci fi film in YEARS. Of course with Ridley Scott at the helm again and shot in 3d it has enormous potential and from the traliers looks like he has shown all others how to make a real prequel. These trailers imo are outstanding and the buzz is really starting to build.
It is shaping as one of the big ones for 2012 along with the hunger games( seeing that tonight), avengers and the dark knight rises.

I cannot see Prometheus as a pinball, nor Blade Runner, nor any of the Alien movies

IMHO, a pinball should be fun to play, MM, WH2O, AFM, all great games that have a lot of humor about them
LOTR, a good game with a deep ruleset, but a drudge to play

MIB I was saved though good editing, watching the behind the scenes stuff shows alot of crap was dumped from the movie
MIB II was an aweful movie
Barry Sonnenfeld (director) has not had a good movie in a LONG time

Sorry I should have been more clear..I'm not talking about that as a pin at all...pins are same old same old...next title is pretty much the same as the last, change a bit here..a toy there..whammo new pin!...just a great new movie to look forward to and if your a sci fi fan this can't get here quick enough.

yes, I believe 100 percent it is definately going to be the Marvels Superheroes pinball for sure.

The link i placed on the ac/dc thread, with the explanation and picture of the "marvels superheroe's A4 piece of coloured paper" on the guys wall at stern who does the dotmatrix designs, says to me that it is not a co-incidence the game is getting made. I hope its a cracker of a game and they dont rush it. Cant wait to see the great artwork.  ^^^

** I think u are on the money Swinsksy, super heroes/avengers will be great. I also think Stern meaningly gets these guys to leak info to get us all drooling as well. Smart move.

IMO Avengers pinball would generally appeal to a wider audience than MIB and Resident Evil. Particularly so if they do a good job on the artwork and some catchy toys. It also ticks the boxes of lastability of theme, although the humour of MIB could be pretty good...
