Stern - Avengers Pinball (late 2012)
« on: June 26, 2012, 07:22:23 AM »
Pinsider in the know says

"Avengers 2012
Led Zep 2013
Star Trek 2013

In that order says mnpinball crystal ball.
Ball subject to change."

Personally I like the thought of Avengers but.not the next 2

Led Zeppelin - OK. This would be a machine I would be VERY interested in. Obviously, Stern are looking at a similar formula as AC/DC. Again, I agree that it is another "Dinosaur band", but the bands that have had Pinball machines have all been the big drawcards. The only Lemon was BOTH Rolling Stones and Dolly Parton. All the others were huge earners in their day.

What Stern's brains trust should look at is an entirely new theme. No bands, comics or movie themes. I want Circus Voltaire II..

X-men and Avengers will do me just fine, add another spidey and I'm done...well unless there are any more MARVEL pins on the horizon. #@#

I would really like to see a licence on Team America, I think that would be the funniest pinball of all time with a shitload of possibilites gameplay wise.

Led Zepplin hey, well it's been a long time since I rock and rolled.... Same for them unfortunately. I'd be interested to see how that one comes off but the other two....not interested. Circus Voltaire 2 on the other hand, Awsome idea!

What would be done with CV2...not another ringmaster, it must be different...what else would be possible?
Led Lep.....wow, can't believe the lack of foresight..if your going to do another new band pin this is not it...been a long time since I had my teeth and didn't now need depend undergarments.
The band of choice even though I am not a fan of band pins or this band in particular is Green Day, the kids love them and would bring new players to pinball. They are just about the biggest band on the planet atm and are currently recording a trilogy of albulms to be released next year.

Heaps of non-licensed themes if some imagination was used. Too scared to stray from the formula...

Spot on...... an unlicenced theme has unlimited opportunities, the boundaries of which are only restricted by the imaginations of the manufaturers.. and theres the issue. Pinball has lacked imagination for years.
A licenced pin will always have limited appeal.. if tied to a movie then its hot while the movie is hot but quickly becomes yesterdays hero as a new movie is put out and so a new pin has to come out also. Because of this quick turn around on produced titles, theres very little time for R & D.

Non licenced themes that always sell well...... monsters of course... zombies are HOT HOT HOT!  and space has always been VERY popular.
Nowadays we have RGB lighting, LCD screens, waaaay better sound, shaker motors etc... far out, anything should be possi9ble given those features!

....Imagine a game called " SupaNova"... its a space themed pin and you have to flip between dimensions through the supa nova and try to get back to earth... weve got space... RGB for the different moods of each dimension... excellent video feature... aliens galore!!!

Nah.. it will never work.. bring on LED ZEP instead.. %.% %.% %.% %.% %.%
