Title: Sppriit of 76 - seeking interest in restoration project
Post by: mickfish on April 03, 2012, 11:24:34 PM

UPDATE: I advise that I have since sold this baby, as is.

I have a Spirit of 76 that is regrettably much neglected, with most damage caused by exposure to coastal humidity. Pic attached
I am looking at feasibility of having it restored.
If you have any interest please contact me on 0411 741 691 or email at mikefisher9000@gmail.com

I am in St Ives- but machine is at a warehouse nearby in Belrose (near Bunnings). Will need to make a time to meet there if you wish to view.
Are you able to do restoration work?
Mike

I dabble in restoration work  && - I'm in Victoria, and I thin a quick google search sees you in NSW. If it was in Vic, I'd be interested. This is my " all time favorite " EM. I think a NSW member looking for a project would jump on this game

Why not have a go yourself ? If I can do it anyone can.  *%*

I have restored 4 EM's so far and each has taken 100+ hours .
If you were to pay someone else to do it , it would cost you a lot of $$ .

Plenty of threads in the resto section here to give you ideas ..

Here is the my thread on the 1st resto I did , to give you an idea of how it can turn out doing it yourself .
I make my own stencils from cardboard by tracing the original artwork .

Well there is the problem of the backglass sorted out... i really should make stencils for this machine which means you have everything at your disposal to restore this yourself... plus regular real time support from members of the forum.

But if you fancy shipping to Brisbane, ill do it for you... getting this type of work done by someone else is not cheap though due to the large amount of work involved

Definitely fixable, the playfield looks ok from what can be seen in the pic. Does the game work at all?
I too dabble in restorations  #@#
