Title: Woodrail Restoration Miss Annabelle
Post by: v200juke on September 10, 2009, 09:31:22 PM
Hello, Pics (posted soon I hope) are of cabinet literally put back together.Front was split in three .Front left had 3 holes and front right had 2 holes where someone had mounted a security bar.The rusted bolts took about an hour to grind off .Fun,fun,fun.Wood around plunger and ball push up was GONE. The back 3rd of cabinet is new. Wood beasts had eaten the lot.The plywood floor is new as the original was covered in tar or something. Oh, I can pick `em. All this is on top of 40 years of gouges and general plywood peeling. Head box is actually a wedgehead that I cut and shut. I will post  more pics once cabinet is complete and painted.   Last pic is Williams 1953 Lazy Q (finished). All the best, Mark .  Hopefully pics will load soon. Thank you to Tony.

That is no problem Mark

The least I could do after you saving this beautiful old pinball machine.

Really looking forward to seeing the next stages

I'm really happy to see somebody saved this game  ^^^

Mark,

What is your plan for the timber rails, lockdown bar and the timber surround of the head?

PBR sells reproduction rails at US$30 each (it was something around that)

Keep the updates coming mate, we teach these guys a bit of history  #@#

I am going to get wood done locally.I have no other projects now so plan to attack this big time over the next few weeks, but 3 kids and wife (and work) may change my mind. I cannot find any pics of machine when it arrived here but trust me it was a dog.Wait till I post playfield pics! It was on location in Zimbabwe and still had their coins inside. This piece of shit has seen more of the world than I have. Woodrails are not everyone`s cup of tea but bringing one back to life is worth it.Mark.

Take that back Daniel!  :lol

Woodrail pins are totally different to more modern pins and really test your skill. Would rather play a nice woodrail anyday  ^^^

As for being beautiful, that they are  *%*

Excellent work  ^^^.
Another example of what time, patience and persistence can achieve (not to mention some $$ no doubt).

Looking forward to seeing more pics of this resto.
