Title: Williams Grand Prix - loops in power up sequence
Post by: Bill_L on July 28, 2017, 06:19:41 PM
Hi All
I picked up my first machine today, 1976 Williams Grand Prix. It was working fine and I played it for a while, then it seemed to get "stuck" in the reset sequence.
I think it's probably just a stuck switch somewhere, but any suggestions would be appreciated!
I have attached a short video.

Thanks

Update - it has stopped doing the reset sequence, but when it's powered on, it says that ball 1 is in play - not Game Over. There's no longer any reset sequence, it just lights up and does nothing :(

Sounds like the score reels are not resetting correctly. I can't tell from the video if they are all zero or not. Maybe manually set the score on each player to NOT be zero and see if they all reset. The other item that needs to be reset is any BONUS relay must be decremented and then advance to the first bonus (1000).

The score motor is waiting for the reset cycle to finish - the Score reels and Bonus relay are a start. You need to check the schematics.

Other items to look at - Game Over Relay and the reset relay itself.
