From RGP.
Cabinet art has been released;
Would have much rather seen ACDC! Not that I am in the market for a NIB machine so I suppose I don't count!
-
((( how many better themes could Stern have came up with?? @.@
Whats going on themes like WoF, Shrek, CSI, 24, save the giant smurf &^&
Bring on the AC\DC pin *%*
-
What is the point
Avatar was last years movie
it has been on DVD for 2-3 months already
+ it was a crap movie anyway ^&(
-
Have left a spot in gamesroom for one more pin,and the only pin i would buy NIB and that would be an ACDC pin. They might end up with a good pin with this but for me the wait continues !*!.
-
avatar is over, old news, Stern :tumble: city ^&^
-
will be at pspa late august 26/27 i am told
-
don't hold ya breathe for ac/dc ..... we have pushed for it but ...
-
So is this layout done by SR going to be in the game?
-
I don't mind the theme at all - although I agree is a bit late. It should have been released at the same time as the movie. Imagine the marketing potential for Stern if it was ?
I don't think we will see an AC / DC pinball. Royalties to use the band's name and image would be cost prohibive unless the members were pinball fans thenselves - like Guns'n'Roses..
-
I think big name titles being produced for STERN and pinball in general is a great thing.
How many people liked Avatar at the movies - millions. Not my cup mof tea, but if the pinball looks and plays great, which i think it will, I would look at one.
IT MIGHT BE THE NEW COLOURFUL VERSION OF CIRCUS VOLTAIRE !
Brand recognition is whats its about and when people see it onsite, espescially family types and younger people, they will probably love it.
The artwork looks great and i reckon the playfield will be unreal.
I am waiting with a positive outlook towards this one !

I remember seeing that on his site ages ago, I forgot about it and thought it was canned
-
Game will be a success for STERN... the movie smashed all box office records and the pinball will be VERY popular... with a title like that many will be tempted to sink a coin and have a game. I cant see how Stern can lose with this one.
yes i know the movie is kinda old now and a bit "ÿesterday" ( i fell asleep during it) but ACDC are MUCH longer in the tooth and so yesterday that they should have an dedicated epitaph not a pinball.
-
very simple guys AC/DC wanted too much ....
you have to want to have a pinball made
but lets not say never
Stern have spoken to many bands old and new
the list was long

Mark, had you asked Stern if they chased Toy Story??
Guys, regardless of what Stern brings out to the market place, there's the same common issue of "lack of support" in the coin-op industry.
I guarantee you won't even see one on site in Melbourne (this doesn't include Bumper Amusements & PSP).

when I spoke to Gary I did say how well I thought Shrek did as a remake of Family guy , I said for me I wouldnt keep a Family Guy but have 2 Shreks
I asked if they would do this again and the answer was yes ... as for toy story now that would be a great title . time will tell
and seeing a Avatar on site I can confirm yes there will be one as we have already sold one for site use
will advise of location once I confirm it if you like

The new version of Avatar will be at the movies end of August, some 8-10 mins longer than the first version...
Also the 3D version has not been released yet.
Just a few more ways for the producers to milk the system...
Personally I think this sucks donkeys balls, I think that most avatar fans would not even know what a pinball is...
Cheers Angelo

Not looking good for a AC/DC pin, Rolling Stones is the rumour on the street &&

That would be great Mark. Let me know once you get them in stock and if there is any others to go out on site.
As for the one that has been pre-ordered with you, hoping it isn't the mob that run the Melbourne Airport pinnies...

Wait for the Avatar special edition that requires 3d glasses to play.... <.>

So what's next? a "Twilight" pin ???? :lol :lol :lol
MM

So what's next? a "Twilight" pin ???? :lol :lol :lol
MM
That would be a hit with the ladies :D
They really could not use the work "Twilight", as pinheads would have it confused with TZ. Can't call it "Vampire" either. "Vampoof" would be a GREAT title @@^
-
Yahoo news reported yesterday that ACDC band made over 140 million in the tax year ending June 2010. ACDC could buy STERN ten times over n do their own pin. lol

Interesting Stern did not use Steve Ritchies design, he would have already been paid for it, it is a basic design with only two ramps, same as the end design, therefore would not have cost any more, did Gary do this to spite Steve??
It is well documented there was a little 'bad blood' there.
End design:

I try to be very positive about everything pinball, but also honest, so it pains me to say the following about this AVATAR pinball picture.
*It doesnt look very challenging at all. I could be wrong, but i think STERN could do ALOT better than that.
Lets see what a real one looks like and plays like.?
I think STERN has taken Gary's "simple, less toys, less cluttered, easier to maintain, lower cost" option to the extreme on this machine. AND I FEEL IT IS A BIG BIG MISTAKE. ONE THAT WILL HURT FINANCIALLY BIG TIME.
STERN will have to do alot better than that if it is to survive. I think STERN needs someone new in Management. Surely they could have done better.
With todays technology, these machines are not eeven a shadow of anything released in the early to mid ninety's. Thats confronting.
Just watch a video on a STERN release like Family Guy, and u see just how deep a rule set, and how many playfield shots that machine had.
This AVATAR pin looks half of that machine. GULP !
-
the youtube ( no sound) of Avatar leaves a little to be desired, hopefully the stern official video will be better,
the 3D backglass is a nice touch.

here is the vid (((
