does BF spin one way even when it is supposed to reverse?  In other words, does it spin the wrong way in test?

The ramp business was very very good to me.

Possibly a couple of faults going on here.

Re the chase lamps.  Can you remove a bulb  (or all) with the machine turned off (and unplugged) and ensure they are the correct type?
Their may be a fault with the board which drives it, but start with the easy stuff first.

Silverball on here has lots of experience with the White Water.  I'll be looking at one next weekend, so I can check the Bigfoot problem then.

Now that I think about it my ww topper doesnt work properly because the waterfall goes up not down... (I like to say that there is a new mod in it that makes the waterfall go up to get attention!) LOL

Had the same problem once. Ended up replacing all the transistors on the Bi-Directional Motor Board. 2x TIP102 and 2x TIP107. There's also another TIP102 transistor plus an IC (LM339). So if you don't know how to circuit test (but are handy with a soldering iron), then just the replacement of all these main components will almost certainly solve the problem.
