Hi Guys, up until now i have only done pinball restorations as im not a big video game fan, but i have always wanted a cocktail cab.
I happen to pick up a machine from a mate who found and bought two cocktail cabs locally.
I decided to put a 60 in 1 board in it, i do like space invaders, pacman, galaxian, dig dug and donkey kong to name a few, evan though im not very good at them.
So i stripped the cab down and took all the metal parts to be powdercoated ripple gloss black.
Ive cleaned the wood grain and repainted the corners of the cab.
Reassembled and mounted a 17"monitor, the 60 in 1 board, an old pc power supply and some old pc speakers.
I made some new control panel overlays, put in new buttons and joy sticks.
Wired up the board and buttons, and everything works fine.
I have some new glass coming this week, and i will paint the back of the glass black.
Im going to keep it simple and not have any graphics under the glass so it will suit any decor, and not look to busy.
here are some pics.
cheers Ian

Yes the legs are not original but thats what was on it when i got it.
Not sure what type of cabinet it is, i think it had Defence Command boards in it, a Defender clone, my mate sold the board and cps to some one.

Well done, Ian ^^^
Every now and again, I like to restore an old video cabinet and most of my buddies now own a 60 in 1 that used to be in operation. It's great to have some variety with your work.

Nice work ^^^

The work u have done on this looks excellent.
It looks just like the 1978 one i picked up recently. I will now get my stuff powder coated like u have . It certainly looks the goods.
If u dont mind me asking, what sort of $$ was the powdercoating all up ?
Well done on a great looking cocktail.

I picked up the glass yesterday and marked out where the screen should be, gave it a coat of black paint.
It come up better than i expected, the glass has a bronze tint and looks very nice over the screen.
So its all finished, and its going up stairs so it will get played more, especially in winter.
