This is a project we have been working on for some time and it is finally coming together. The PCB is made with 3oz copper (standard PCB is 1oz and the original board was standard) and all tracks are beefed up as much as possible. All parts are 'through hole' NO surface mounted parts are used.
The plated through holes are 'double coated' meaning they received a double thickness of plating and we have added numerous large plated through holes to ensure maximum current flow.
The PCB is screened with legends on both sides making identification of the connection points easy. The connection points that take the wires from the power transformer are all double sized so you don't have to squeeze wires into them. Mains fuse holder is an isolated type for safety and the heatsink was custom made for this job - I even had it anodised a nice gold colour :D There is a 'power on' LED on the board as well as a very chunky earth tab using a 3mm screw.
All parts will be supplied including brass spacers for the bridges, heatsink compound for the heatsink and all new plastic standoffs for mounting. Also new plugs and connectors to wire on the end of your harness if required (recommended).
I am putting the assembly manual together now and it should be available for download from the Homepin.com website in a week or so. Just waiting on one final part to arrive and we also have to laser cut the clear fuse cover for finished KITs to be ready to ship.
Unsure of the final cost yet but it is likely to be around AU$55~60. Keep an eye on the website for availablity - first batch will be a run of only 30 kits so 'first in - best dressed'.

nice stuff $#$

Well done looks great

Good news, Mike. These are always a pain to recondition. Good fun, but takes a while. I'd much rather build / install your kit.
-
Looks pretty sexy, might need to go and find some tissues *)*
Seriously, for $60 odd bucks it seems very good value, you honestly couldn't be stuffed repairing an original Bally one for that kind of value, bearing in mind you need to source all the parts and them remove the old ones before you can fit them. Unless of course you want 100% originality.
I'll definately be up for one of these. Bring em on
-
Yeh... great stuff again.
Reconditioning the original boards is a pain in the butt.
This is a much better option
-
Love your work Mike ^^^
-
Great work, love the look of that heat-sink!
-
First board assembled - ready to install in my Space Invaders....

This is what prompted me to build this board - the hideous mess that was in my machine:

Mike - as part of the kit, can I suggest you provide the connectors and trifuricon pins as mandatory (not just recommended)?

I do intend to provide connectors and pins BUT "trifuricon" types are not available to me and neither are polarising pegs (well they are - but at stupid prices).
I will supply housings and standard pins - note my use of 2 x 10 pin connectors rather than a single 20 pin for J3 - I found it far more managable than a single 20 pin connector - the board can accept both types. I have also marked the board with "J3-L" and "J3-R" and my connectors will have the stickers on them as pictured.

^^^Wow great effort and Aussie made, your right the old boards are a pain to rebuild. can you put me down for 3 at least
-
Awesome work Mike. Another much needed product for our pins... ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

I saw one of your great boards at snapper Joe's on monday night ,thanks to Gibbo for bringing a assembled board down. One much needed product as the original power boards although simple are a pain to rebuild at times. I like HV fuse cover (This would of saved me a little "love bite" from a stern Stars on the back of my arm!) . Beefed up tracks used throughout. nice Job . will be putting one into a Quicksilver and a Meteor ^^^
-
Glad you like them. Only a few left from this batch. Any new batch will have to wait form my next container to arrive (the heavy parts will be in it) - possibly a couple of months away.
-
Received mine today.
Very nice
Looking forward to building and installing it in a game

Where can I get the complete board, are they ready to plug into the existing connectors, is there any other wiring or hardware to be added.
Any replies would be appreciated.
