So many fun games, I really liked Gottliebs back then - didn't really know the difference between the brands as a kid, but the ones that I remembered liking the best were as it turned out Gottlieb.

Favorite is King Pin - I love the open almost bare timber bowling lane playfield and long shots to the drops, and the extra ball on the second level, and moving special on the third. I had one for quite a while and really enhoyed the "pure" pinball feel of an EM.

What is this SMELL everyone talks about.

What does it smell like ???

It's got me intrigued....

Ever smelled a truffle! its like that!
You just can't explain it until you smell it yourself and there is NO comparison!  &&
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

Ok. Interesting.

When I go and see someone's EM, I am going to ask if I can smell the insides of their EM.
It's the only way I am going to know this interesting smell.
Thanks for the info.

My pick is Gottlieb's "Free Fall" the add a ball version of "Sky Jump" from 1974. I have managed to acquire both of these games and they are waiting in the queue at Nino's for his NIB restoration.   $#$

If you think the smell of an EM is strong - try smelling a 50's Bally bingo. I have four under the stairs and I smell the oil smell from 5 feet away. I LOVE it !

Canada Dry / El Dorado / Solar City / Target Alpha - Iconic playfield layout. Drop Target heaven
Captain fantastic - Artwork and gameplay
Wizard - Similar to Captain Fantastic
Six Sticks - First 6 player game in history. Hard scoring game that is unique.
King Pin - Drop Target bank located as a straight shot from flippers. VERY popular game.
Jacks Open - similar to King Pin. Like Sky Jump, it has deep rules for an EM.

Some favourites for me are
Skyrocket (Bally)
Centigrade 37 (GTB)
Lady Luck (Williams 1968) .. I have one of these .. pretty unique .. playing blackjack and trying to beat the dealer while also trying to beat high score
El Dorado (GTB) .. I have one of these .. lots of drops and they reset when all down !
Gulfstream (Williams).. I have one of these .. Tic Tac Toe on a pinball .. trying to light all 4 corners for 3 specials is pretty impossible
