Well Louise will be happy and aint that what its all about :lol

Which is as often as he changes his socks at the moment.
-

-
Not in a hurry....
Wotto = DMD's
Rollerball = SS,s
Tony = Em's
seems good to me

Congo is DMD Paul <.>
-
Nah...no congo for me...was thinking about it...but too new
-

-
I'm just hoping Rollerball has a good pin trolley - getting a bit worried about what all this pin swapping might be doing to his back.
-

Picked up the Elektra....
damn its dirty.....but not too much wear...a couple of busted plastics...needs all new rubbers...fires up but wont spit out a ball...will look into that....and 2 dodgy displays...zero wear middle playfield...just dirty....
backglass would have to be a 10 out of 10..
some classic quotes from the owner...all within 10 mins
Oh you can take the glass off then??
Oh I didnt know that there was a rubber thingy missing on those 3 flippers...
Oh I didnt know there was a switch under the machine..wow...
Oh so you can take the legs off then...
Oh so you can change the globes...
Oh so you can turn the volume down..
Oh hang on whats that button your pressing in the coin door,,,
Oh so you fix these for a living then???
-
Pix !@#
He sounded honest on the eBay Youtube video ?
Still - All the things you mentioned will be easy fixes.
-
Cool!
Looking forward to some before and after clean-up pics.
You could tell by that video he knew absolutely nothing. It's weird to us, but you have to remember that most punters wouldn't have a clue.
-
Yep too true...and he was a great bloke..
-
Thats game wont start if its missing a ball. Yep get some pics up Paul ()
-
Only ball missing is the captive ball...
the coil fires a ball out to play in the test mode...so guessing it maybe a switch

Sound stolen - lol

Got the ball to kickout...was a switch,,,,just needed an adjust...
The relay to turn on the bottom playfield and bottom flipper is playing up....
Is buzzing and when it buzzes the top flippers jump like crazy...
The relay is stuffed...or maybe a bad solder joint on the relay board...will re-flow the solder on the board and see if that fixes it...I think once that is sorted it will play fine..
One 7 digit display is flickering and playing up....and the player 4 display works fine but it is a 6 digit display...
Wotto had a look at it and thought it would clean up alright...it is very dirty..
-
Paul conveniently failed to mention that when I 'touched' Elektra .....it started working *)*
Paul conveniently failed to mention that I kicked his arse on HH today.
Putting that aside for a moment.....
This Elektra could be a really good project and would come up pretty bloody nice actually.
Needs some tender lovin care and the upper playfield needs a little touching up in spots.
The backglass is A FRICKIN 1 ^^^
-
Yep Wotto fixed the Elektra just by looking at it...
and after that he did the normal thing...made the FLASH reset yet again...had been working fine till he turned up...
-
While you have the soldering iron hot, give the first few header pins on each end of the display a re flow. Should clear it up.
The credit display "Should" be a 6 digit right?. So you have 3 x 7 digits and 2 x 6's?
-
yes thats correct Rod...
Damn looks like the little board with just the Relay on it is shot...
The relay needs to be replaced Im guessing...as It clicks away like crazy,,,and the flippers flip away like crazy in time with it...
-
Is it the same relay that is on the solenoid driver board?. I have one here somewhere.
-
I think Ken told me (when I had mine) to check the diode near that relay, he has found it causes issues sometimes.
-
Does Elektra have the Solenoid Expander board ? Usually mounted under the playfield - it has a relay and a 555 globe. If the 555 globe is no good - some solenoids will not work - Often, these boards have dry joints on the connectors.
Bit lazy tonight - I have not checked the schematic to see if this game has one &&
-
All good...thanks for that...
I found the globe but it was working...so changed it anyway and now its fine...
Elektra is now fully working...
Very very happy...as for $750 not a bad pickup...
-
Spent most of the day working on the Elektra....
And I must say Im over the moon on how well this thing came up....
I wish i had taken some before shots as this thing was FILTHY...
Now the machine is fully working...and only need to attack the bottom playfield next....and do some small touch-ups.

-
She came up sweet Paul....nice work.
My money is on it being sold by this time tomorrow and you have bought another pin :lol
-
Nice, Paul - Very nice.
I'd be interested in your review of this machine - as I've heard that it is a very good player.
-
I bought the replacement grey spongy foam stuff thats seals the bottom PF from bunnings (yours is hanging of), its self adhesive (just pull the old staples out). Yes you should keep it for awhile, not many guys have played that game.
-
nice looking machine, good job on the clean up.
Ian
-
well done Paul. Looks great!
