Olympic Hockey 1972
« on: August 16, 2013, 03:21:33 AM »
This Game saved from the brink, Game was almost wrecked as it was in a bad way, headbox broken and needed gluing and clamping, I rebuilt all stepper units and score reel mech's. It took quite a bit of tweaking to get the 20 position stepper unit in headbox to operate correctly (this unit moves the "Puk" behind the Backglass). game is now at a new home and new owner has rebuilt flippers and cleaned and polished playfield. We rebulit the pop bumpers together and all other coils have been resleeved. Game now plays great it has 2 bells and a buzzer that sounds when a goal is scored! The 3rd photo shows new "Puk" and ribbon (old one was made from thin metal strip with plastic puk). New Puk is a plastic eyeball from a Craft Shop and works a treat!

Fascinating game, well done saving it!

I was looking at videos trying to see the puk at work - you can sort of tell from this one.

“If you wanna escape, go up to a pinball machine. There’s a magic button on the front that takes you to a world under the glass and makes the the rest of the universe disappear.”

One of my favorite Williams EMs. Open playfield and the goal scoring make it a fun game. Many of the early Williams EMs are great fun and have a unique feel to them. Winner, A-Go-Go are two other titles that are really fun to play.

You have done a great job with the resto.  ^^^

Bloody fun to play in 2 player too!
the buzzer when a goal is scored gives a bit more authenticity to the theme, bells and chimes make for some nice sounds.
Plays well too as Ralph really likes to tweak the old girls  &&
You were gonna use this for spare parts early on in the peace weren't you Ralph? as it was nearly a junker
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.
