Title: Pinball comp settings
Post by: Goingpinsane on March 17, 2016, 08:40:55 PM
Hi guys. I'm having a few mates over for a pin night/comp. 10 mates 4 machines. As I've never been involved in any of these before I'd like to run it like most organised comps. Are there any particular game settings that are standard at these competitions? Any advice on how to set the structure up would be great.

What pins as some DMD machines have tournament settings in them OR set them to 3 ball and no extra ball is probably the easiest ( and hardest for the players ) have fun and good luck.
does this help?

For my comp, I set them up as hard as possible (being mainly DMDs). Otherwise, it can turn into a long session.

3 ball, no EB, remove outlane posts completely, or at least on their widest settings, fairly sensitive tilt.

If it's just a friendly / social comp it depends on the skill level of the players involved . If you are all pretty good players then as mentioned , the comp could take a while so set them to 3 ball , extra balls turned off , tilt sensitive , outlane posts opened up or removed all together . If you are all just average players then no reason why you couldn't leave them set up as per normal .

If you have 5 players the person who wins on a certain game get 5 points, 2nd gets 4 points ,3rd gets 3 points 4th gets 2 points etc
Do that for every game , the person at the end with most points wins.
If you have 10 players give the winner 10 points then work down ,  get my drift!
Hope you have a good comp
