Hey all, I'm new to the group. Thanks for having me. Just recently purchased my first machine which quickly led to a second and then a third.
Gottlieb Solar Ride
Bally Playboy
Gottlieb El Dorado City of Gold.
I'm chasing a quality scan or photo of the City of Gold backglass.
If anyone has one or know's where I might be able to get one, please get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks again,
SolarRider

It never stops at just one game..
Scans - They might be hard to find, but if you are after a backglass ;

Thanks for the welcome Strangeways. Yeah, its definitely addictive. Thanks for those links too. I have emailed the Gottlieb people to see if they can be of any help.
Thanks again,

I checked with those sources a while back for that glass. They had none. Every Eldorado city of gold I've seen had a bad blackglass, usually just straight out peeling away.
Was this machine from Play Well games, Brisbane?
-
no, just a private sale in Melbourne.
-
I know it would be a miracle to find a back glass in good condition. I'm happy to have one made up but i just need a quality image to get started. Everything I have found online is too small in size unfortunately.

Perhaps you could borrow mine, have it scanned and a new one printed? Whereabouts in Gippsland are you?
-
Ah, Dean Morgan's one. There is a printing company in Melbourne of which I know the owner. He told me he could replicate any blackglass, however it would be expensive as to set up the process for each particular glass.
Anyways, if you need somebody to print the glass (as I was intending to do) I can get his details for you.

That would be absolutely brilliant. I live in Drouin and work in Berwick. I could pick it up take it to be scanned and then return it. Where abouts are you?

Yes I did buy it from Dean. Thanks for the tip. I may well need those details.

Did you actually go through with printing the glass, SolarRider? How does it look?
-
Hey Mutch, sorry I didn't see your post. I must have missed the notification. I did eventually get the image printed. Only a couple of weeks ago actually. It's come up quite nice. Only thing it's letting through a lot more light than the original backglass. So have to find either softer globes or add a sheet of some sort of defusing material behind the image. I have it sitting between two sheets of 3mm perspex. I'll try and attach an image.

Try standard 180 Degree Cool white or Warm White LEDs. Maybe even color match with LEDs. Incandescent would be too bright in this instance.

Thanks Strangeways. Have ordered a few different LEDs and will experiment.

Just wondering if you have the contact details for that printer you mentioned in Melbourne. I've sorted out my City of Gold backglass but now looking at making one up for my SolarRide.

Well done on the Eldorado Backglass Solar Rider
