Greetings all
« on: August 11, 2009, 08:40:30 PM »
Hello to all,

Now this looks like the place to be!  I stumbled on this stie recently when searching for Aussie Pinball related links.  Great find.

Collection wise, I started with TZ about 5 years back, then added FH and STTNG a couple of years ago.  Yeah, it never stops at 1.  Though I like to play a good game, I actually really like tinkering with a game to optimise it so everything works and the game play is nice and tight.

Now pretty keen to add to the collection when the right thing turns up.  Trouble is I’m in Canberra – not lots of purchasing options here.  Seems Melbourne is the place to be.

See you,
James

Welcome mate, it sure is the place to be if you are into pinball. And Melbourne is the pinball capital of Australia!

At the Expo I did meet a pinball dealer from Canberra (Capital Pinball?) - but you can always buy pins from around the country and get them shipped, I guess.

Pinballs can be shipped all around the country with a minimum of fuss. Just make sure you know exactly what you want.

Hi James,

Welcome to Aussie Pinball, yes it's the place to be  ^^^

My wife is a Canberra girl (she grew up in Campbell) - there are a number of collectors around your way.

Darren Lemons has the most AMAZING collection of late model games but he really keeps to himself pinball wise

%)% James.  Yeah, the Melbourne boys seem to have it good down there, but if you keep your eyes open, games tend to move around fairly regularly I've noticed.  And there seems to be a lot of new games coming into the country at the moment.  Gotta be quick though %.%

Nice collection so far, and good luck on the search for the next one (or 5) *%*

Howdy James, welcome to the ONLY pinball forum in this great land of AU !!

(Capital Pinball?) - but you can always buy pins from around the country and get them shipped, I guess.

Um, yes, the second option would be the smarter one!

You're not saying Capital Pinball wants top dollar for his games, are you? Most dealers do.

It depends if you are after some sort of after sale backup or whether you think you can learn how to fix pinball machines yourself.

I have absolutely no problem with dealers and dealer pricing. I just prefer some other dealers (actually, every single other dealer on the planet! ;)

But getting off topic. James, if you do buy from outside your territory, the great thing about this forum is the ability to get help from so many technically minded people who have help lots of guys get games going or repaired - that's the wonderful thing about this place.
