Title: T2 flipper dead
Post by: pinball god on June 17, 2011, 09:08:28 PM
Picked up my T2 from my son today knowing that right flipper had stopped working during game play a few weeks ago. Figured it was a fuse blown but thought I'd check the flipper mechs. Noticed the left hand flipper was missing a diode and the faulty right had the wrong coil. So I added the second diode and replaced the coil with an old fl11630 not 29 as was there. The mechs look ok as they were rebuilt by a tech not too many games ago.

I pulled out F102 and tested it and was ok, but still replaced it. Checked the new fuse prior to install and ok. Powered up and flipper still dead. Checked fuse still mounted on driver pcb and showed blown. Took out and tested ok. Reinstalled and dont get continuity.

Is it reasonable to assume a dry solder joint on the fuse holder or bad holder? Or is there something else I need to do? Thanks

I'd certainly inspect the fuse-holder, something rotten there....
