Mad Max Fury Road Pinball?
« on: May 19, 2015, 03:09:07 PM »
I thought this movie would tank but man was I wrong, it is insane!
It could be a truly brilliant pinball machine as well.

If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.

Cc without giving any important stuff away what are some of the good points?
I enjoy Porsche, Gibson LPs, Bally-Williams & learning about pinball maintenance & restoration.

Looking at some of the characters in the trailers, my 18 year old daughter would fit right in there. Same theme, new generation.

Too many good points to mention really, the direction, score and acting are all top notch. The visuals and stunt set pieces are brilliant. The story is simple but fitting in this post apocalyptic world gone mad.
It's a strap in and hold on type of film, it never really lets up.
It is something best seen for yourself on the big screen if you like this type of stuff.

Wow I thought the exact opposite. I was very underwhelmed. Very shallow plot (as expected), some really cheesy moments, stiff acting, overblown red/ blue colour grading and the main actor looking like he was trying to act like Mel Gibson.

It wasn't all bad, the points you already listed were well done but overall for me it was not much of a continuation of the theme. Different strokes I guess. Z

Going to watch this movie and looking forward to it.
I am hoping it's just not like the last movie was which killed it with too much dodgy car chases but the 1985 Thunderdome movie was OK and just got a 6/10 from me.

I was hoping it got back on the Tarmac/road with some seriously sopped up motorbikes and XB XC Slantback Fords and so on. Like if Mad Max found a hidden hoard of "the last of the GREAT V8 Interceptors" and so on, and if he found a buddy to work with (like a Mad Max version of a Batman sidekick) but I am off to see it and am hoping for the best.

I have heard very mixed reviews of this movie.

Thankyou Daz for your posts.

Update

Went and saw the movie. Loved it.
Had a few small complaints but won't mention them because not everyone has seen the movie yet.

Loved the action. They certainly spent some huge $$ making this.

The new series is slated for another 3 movies after Fury Road and Tom Hardy who plays Mad Max has apparently signed on and contracted himself for the next 3 movies.

I am hoping Stern USA does a Mad Max Fury Road Pinball.
It would be awesome.

If u haven't seen the movie, and u like ACTION on the BIG screen, and LOUD audio, get to a cinema cause this movie is GREAT.

Looking forward to the next movie in the Series.

Would be an awesome license. Americans LOVE the original movies and if the new movie is good, then it would be a no brainer.

Aussie Movie = Great pinball license !

Apparently Stern already has the licence because they (George Miller and company) have been making the movie off and on for over 3 years. But a Homepin Mad Max pinny would be fine with me !

JJP wasn't intetested because it was too violent (but there was violence in the Hobbitt etc interestingly) but make believe characters being violent is OK but human violence vs human violence isn't on the JJP want list..... Fair enough. Not everyone likes violence which is completely understandable when selling to a family market ?

If anybody does this pinball, to me, it will be like Waterworld but instead of water, it will be a desert full of sand etc.
And hoping it sells a lot better and is more collectable than a Waterworld is. (Although I have a Waterworld and enjoy it). The rawness of Fury Road on a Pinny should be great. John Borg would do this title wonders, or Steve Ritchie or even John Trudeau. The artwork featuring the XB 351 2 door Hartop with Blower etc would be very nice and Aussie Unique.

Will Stern wait for the 2nd movie to do a pin or go with the first Fury Road movie ?
