Kings of the Sun
Chocolate Starfish
Hard-Ons
Cyclone Tracy

Yep Hard Ons were definately great band and also the Stems too.

One of my all time favourites was Spy Vs Spy.
I wish they were still together, can remember seeing them about 3 times at the Old Melbourne here in Perth. I've often wondered why it is a 3 piece band can kick such ass. I suppose keep it simple drums bass and guitar is the 3 basic elements you need ay?

The Spys were a brilliant live band, we would see them every time they came to Brisbane...I must have seen the spys well over 20 times easily.

The Riptides
The Go-Betweens
Died Pretty
Lime Spiders

Powder Monkeys
Eastern Dark
New Christs
Yes-Men
DM3
Someloves
Orange Humble Band
Radio Birdman (HUGELY influential to OZ music)
Bored!
Trilobites
Louise Tillett
Beast of Bourbon
Kim Salmon
Nunbait
and there's many, many more...

most bands mentioned in this thread are legendary in Europe, majority of people in this country just never worked it out ::)....

Radio Birdman...you are dead right there mate..they paved the way for just about everyone.
I was too young to see them in the early days in Sydney but I got to meet Deniz Tek on his first solo tour in the 90's and from that meeting we became friends and our band later supported the Birdman on thier comeback tour as well as  quite a few Tek band shows as well.
Top guy and a bloody insane guitarist/songwritter, shame he wasn't born in oz as he would have been the greatest guitarist this country has ever produced.
