Title: External hard drive question
Post by: pinsanity on July 26, 2013, 01:51:38 PM
Question for the tech guys.

Is there an inherent danger in filling an external hard drive to maximum capacity? If so, is there a rule of thumb as to how much "empty space" should be left based on capacity?

Can a hard drive fail for being overfilled?

If only used for storage, there is no danger to load up.  Data can be recovered off failed drives at a cost.
