CPR has started a new line of conversion kits
First up was Inked, a conversion kit for Harlem Globetrotters
next is Playmate a kit for Playboy
my issue with these is they are using awesome looking games for conversion, even it the game is trashed, I'd rather try to get it back to original

Inked one looks interesting, only a pic of the backglass though, no cab or playfield pics unless i was looking at it wrong.

click on the backglass, then scroll down for a slideshow gallery
it might look interesting, but Harlem Globetrotters is another rare game (in Australia), I have only seen a handful come up for sale in the last 10 years
even if you could find one, it would still be several $000 to buy

Played it up at benny's i think. Wasn't memorable.

Each to there own I guess but I completely agree Pete. I’d much rather original games or restored to original than a conversion to a different theme. Harlem Globetrotters looks fantastic and is one of my favourite playing games of its era. For me a re-theme of this game would do nothing but devalue it.
-
another point; why do they both have to be softcore porn?
what's wrong with Greek Myths, cowboys and Indians, card games, sci-fi?
-
As a bit of a traditionalist I tend to agree, rather restore to original.
-
Both are cringeworthy and I love boobs

Yep. boobies are good, that stuff is not.

If a game can be saved, then that should always be first option. I personally would never re-theme a game and I'm surprised this is even offered - but there would be people out there that might want to re-theme. The only reason I can think of is licensing - If CPR cannot do Harlem Globetrotters playfields, and you have a water damaged, soled, burnt up unsalvageable playfield - this option would save the game, but only because it would be impossible to restore to original.

My HGT i had would've been a good candidate for a re-theme with its stuffed playfield. Being unable to find a better playfield i (reluctantly) ended up parting it out and selling most of the parts.. sold just about everything except the playfield.
