Hey All,
I have started working on my Joker Poker. I have no displays at the moment and
I am having trouble with the 1/4 amp Slo blow fuse which keeps blowing when i power machine up.
I am using a fast blow not sure if that is the issue as I think it should be a slo blow fuse?
I am currently having issues finding 1/4 amp slo blow fuses does anyone know of someone locally?
So I have 2 questions.. 1. Would the fast blow fuse blow immediately when powered up?
2. Where can I purchase 1/4amp slo blow fuses in Sydney Australia?

Do you have schematics ?
You will need a slo blo. Jaycar or any electronic store should stock them, or buy from us here - https://www.rtbb.com.au/product/mdl-1-1-4-slow-blow-fuses/ (https://www.rtbb.com.au/product/mdl-1-1-4-slow-blow-fuses/)
Don't waste time or $ until you use the correct slo blo... Then try the below ;
1/4A SB Fuse on the fuse board is for the +69 V which goes to the Power Supply. You can remove the input connector to the power board and then test for the fuse. That will eliminate the Bridge rectifier on the fuse board.
More likely, it will be a display, so you could try disconnecting all the displays and add one at a time until the fuse blows. NOTE - DO NOT disconnect a display while power is on.

I will have a look over the weekend. I tried Jaycar but they said they don't stock that fuse.
I have just found some on ebay, and i ordered them yesterday.
Now i know that RTBB has them i will get them there next time.
I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Update on Joker Poker.
I got the Slo Blow fuses finally but I will need to find some edge connector housings as some of the wires are soldered to the boards and After checking further a lot of the pins are completely open.
I think its best to sort this issue out first before I look into the fuse blowing issue.

Update on Joker poker.
MPU Repaired and working and 1/4amp slow blow fuse installed.
Machine booted up and i played 3 balls with no displays and no sound then the 1/4amp slow blow fuse blew and game over.
Which connector do I remove to test bridge rectifier? Connector number please?
I will test as per your instructions and report back and then test the displays 1 at a time.

UPDATE on Joker Poker.
I have some good news machine is almost working. ^^^
I found a bad display and when removedfuse not blowing anymore. Game is fully functional with no displays.
If i can get the displays working game will be perfect.
Any thoughts on what to look at please???

If a displays blowing a fuse it’s usually stuffed, Repairable issues will be partial displays working or locked on digits etc,
Put the good displays in 1,2 &3 position for now till you find another display I’ll have a look tomorrow to see if I have a spare floating about unless anyone else has a test or repair to try

None of the displays are working at the moment but i have seen them working before i moved the machine?
Does the machine need the four displays connected for them to all power on or could there be another reason why they all are not working?

The game should show displays even with just one display fitted.

If you moved the machine then the displays stopped working, it will most likely be a connector. If the 1/4A SB fuse blows and you isolate it to one display - that display is toast. Very common. Either a second hand one will need to be sourced, or similar. PBR used to stock these, but they don't have any in stock. The part number is - GTB-MA116. I'm not sure if there is a replacement made by anyone else.

The display Connectors have all been re-seated and no luck.
I have removed the display that causes the 1/4amp slo blow fuse to blow
All displays are still out and it seems they have no power?
What should I look at next please?

Do you have a multimeter? Personally I’d be making sure the displays are getting the correct voltages

So you have identified the display that blows the 1/4ASB Fuse, but you replace the fuse, turn on the game and NO displays are working ? If thats the case, you need to check the connectors on the Power Supply, namely "P1" as pins 6 and 7 have the 69VAC from the transformer. As Dan suggests, a reading on the multimeter would be good here. The output TO the displays from the Power Supply are on Connector "P3". You are looking for 42VDC at pin 3, and 60VDC at Pin 1. Pin 5 is Ground for this Circuit (important as Ground is NOT common across a factory Power Supply Board).
With the game OFF. Reseat Power Supply Connectors "P1" and P3" as they relate to the Displays.

Likely culprit would be grounding.
The SYS1 has the ground separated on the power board I think for displays and other power, it was a long time ago but I think I fixed mine by tying them together and doing all the other ground mods on Clay's guide
