Is there a near foolproof method to straighten coin doors?
« on: April 01, 2015, 06:29:16 PM »
...short of putting your knee behind it & bending till it buckles? Is anyone willing to share their method for (as far as possible) removing the ubiquitous concavity in the black williams/ bally coin doors? Ta, Andy.

note it would be more economical to buy a new door or skin, unless you have to much time and no money. ^^^

I would be cautios about bying a machine with a door that had been kneed, for if it has been kneed, chances are it has also been SLAM tilted.Picked up at the front and droped from a hieght.

just talk to the suppliers easy fix, they have the sourses.if they are out of stock they will just re-order more if there is a demand.doors and door skins are there bread and butter for the  people tidying up there machines.or save $5 bucks and buy from the states.

I hear you - thanks for your help. I get a lot of satisfaction from restoring/ or at least improving the original - but take your point that sometimes it's better to just buy new.

My method is buy a new one. I tried panel beating and its very difficult. I got ok results but if you look carefully its not perfect. I think for a better job you'll need the right flat hammer etc etc and time. sorry can't help further
Still loving my Metallica Premium
