The Munsters as a licensed theme.

Another is a museum theme and no license required.

Even though I was never into Ted's stuff, I do love my Nugent. Shouldave been more band theme pins. Whats much better than playing ya fav pinball, pumping your stereo to ya fav band, and enjoying a cold beverage?
Nothing!

There would be plenty of games that don't need a license.

Going back through history, my favorite games didn't need licensing etc... Fathom / Medusa / Paragon / Haunted House / Spirit.

Medieval Madness / Cactus Canyon / Junkyard

I've always liked the funnier pins as well - Scared Stiff and Austin Powers come to mind.

Surely a "Wayne's World" license would not be expensive.. The "brand" is not that marketable nowadays..

Greg's comment about utilizing the "Elvis" Pinball layout for multiple titles was a great idea.

All the music related pins hold their value, so another KISS using modern technology would have been awesome - or Metallica / AC/DC / Iron Maiden.

For me, I would try to avoid the movie theme, it seems to be the quick n easy way without too much thought..Just wack on some licenced pics and away you go!
(says he with what was 3 licenced 'movie theme' pins in his collection)...

Timeless themes such as cops n robbers, car chases, aliens invading earth, space / time travel,  with lots of strobes, awesome music and some thoughtful toys appeals to just about everyone.  Also a game has to have a goal, to win (with a few easter eggs along the way!) rather than just a flipper bash scoring points.

E.T would be a good themed pin.  BMX stunts, phone home feature, find M&M treasure hunt mode, Speak n Spell multiball, and the game to be timed at a certain point to reach the spacecraft. And of course there would be heaps of sound bites you could use from the movie( including, penis breath in the R rated roms &&)And the awsome score as well.

Sounds cool to me anyhoo %$%

Cops n robbers, car chases, a thoughtful toy, a goal - sounds a bit like Dirty Harry!

I'm just shooting from the hip here, but other cool things would be like a switch on the front to turn on the lights and sirens & maybe a chain to active a full on air horn!  That would be cool...

I'm starting to see a mental picture of this hybrid pin...a bit like when Homer was allowed to design his own car!

i wanna do a new haunted house with serious mist multiball effects everywhere...ghost balls, UV action ,maybe a new sort of powerball....like a hi effeiciency 'superball'...gonna need some bullet proof playfield stuff but a superball in a pin would be just f**king unbelieveable

Hi All,

I can safely say i have the following custom pins in progress (home projects):
Black Sabbath
Iron Maiden
Helloween (German metal band, not the movie).
Metallica

I've since been asked to make a Deep Purple, AC/DC and Van Halen too.....

Game concepts and designs are near completion (although i keep thinking of more scenario's), and cabinet/backbox stuff is planned and ready to attack in the coming months.

I'll create a seperate thread when i'm closer to sharing progress/pics or final product.

Enjoy!
MM.
