G'day All... After seeing the resto efforts of others on here, i decided to show some of my own efforts. I'll keep it simple for now and show some before/after pics of my Stern Lectronamo pf i restored. As can be seen in the before pic, there was a HUGE hole worn in the middle between the slingshots tha some one had coloured in with black texta!! it was quite a challenge to repair this.

Thanks guys. I used a combination of automotive acrylic spraypaints, the old tried and true artists acrylics, and decals that i made from scans taken from worn sections of the pf, edited and touched up in photoshop.

That is some fantastic work mitch. What part is decal and what part is paint? I love seeing these before and after shots.
Who in their right mind would fill in the wear areas with black texta? Weirdo :D :D :D

The red, orange and yellow lightning bolt that runs diagonally up the pf is paint, auto acrylic spraypaint... sanded back and masked off for each colour after the worn area was sprayed with primer/filler and block sanded flat. The bonus ladder, and much of the lettering were done as decals. I made these myself using clear adhesive inkjet label (bought from Kmart), though a better way would've been to have a signwriter print them onto adhesive vinyl (much thinner than the inkjet label material i used). Having done it this way, i've done all of the work myself. The results aren't perfect but it looks way better than it did before i started.

Great Job i must tackle a big repair like this one day. But how do you scan the damaged sections onto your computer? Do you hold the playfield over the scanner?

I removed the lid from my scanner and placed the scanner onto the playfield to scan the images. i'm planning to do a thread soon on the full restoration of this machine that will have full details of how i did this, with lots of pics of the work done on this PF. Stay tuned!!
