Inretesting - I haven't listened yet but will later today. The "Wizard of Iz" isn't intended as a bit of a humerous dig at anyone is it?

It is a long listen, over an hour

Hmmm, I had thought more people would have been interested in this

But if you did not want to listen to the podcast, there is an article on pinballnews.com

I am sure there are plenty of people interested, but I for one haven't set aside the hour needed yet to listen to the podcast.

From the Pinball News article it certainly sounds like this guy will be able to produce a pinball machine.

Busy time of year I suspect for many, but I did have a listen yesterday. Best of luck to Jack, sounds like he has a bit of an idea (rather than the no idea people often found with big plans and no result). Sincerely hope things get done, and are not hindered by existing interests so much that they can't push through the barriers. I'm sure a lot of us will be following this Yellow Brick Road with interest!

The choice of themes is an interesting one - fair enough, a timeless classic but I can't see it appealing much to people like me. Maybe the "family factor" will create the ability to acquire an extra game "for the kids", and perhaps it will be a player so much that the theme becomes appealing?

Not sure about the choice of designer – this list is not that impressive IMO

Apollo 13
Baywatch
Godzilla
High Roller Casino
Irons & Woods
Richie Rich
South Park
Star Wars Trilogy
Starship Troopers
Striker Xtreme
The Simpsons Pinball Party

Some of these are pretty weak games IMO. TSPP is one of Stern’s better efforts, but not a great layout and way too stop start.

Some members will have some of these games - any thoughts?

Don't have any just yet, but Apollo 13 and Striker Xtreme are both on my long-term wish list.

Will be good to see another pinball manufacturer out there... gary Sterns claims that there isnt enough room in the market for 2 and another would put Stern out of business could well prove to be true. Id have to agree that another STERN would put one of them out of business. Ill wait and see the outcome of all this before really applauding or slamming it.
On first impressions though.... Wizard of Oz??  Oh dear.. oh dear oh dear

I doubt there has ever been a pinball theme where most people have gone 'Yeah!'

Good luck to him for having a go, even if it is a lame theme, who knows where his business could go?
Always great for our hobby to have people trying to breathe some life back into pinball  ^^^

I would like a WOZ pinball, great theme just needs to be made right it would need to have ruby red slipper flippers(slipper shape),yellow brick road multiball (yellow brick lanes) , a house that goes up & down (to squash the witch) flying monkey video  mode this could be the best pin ever with the right music & flowing shots
they would have to make a LE gold
any more i'dears?
there's plenty that can be done with this theme!

This threads a bit old, but in response to Nicks question about some of the titles the designer made, I have the following 3 x games and reckon they are very good.  ^^^

STARSHIP TROOPERS - fast n furious gameplay - great audio speech-excellent music, fun dmd animations, getting "Live Fire" multiball and the warning noises/sirens in the background are way cool. follows the movie very very well. A really surprising game and a keeper.

GODZILLA - as greg from RTBB said, a well made game, cool green ramps n bright green colours all over the playfield, great toys, the ball flys out of godzillas mouth, which not many people realise, headbox shape unique, and ghameplay challenging and interesting.

STAR WARS TRILOGY - great if u love Star Wars. Ordinary if u dont love Star Wars. But again, overall, an interesting mid paced game. A couple of cool toys and some way cool dmd animations. Plays fast when waxed up with the pitch level correct. Cool toy with the laser guns reloading up the top left of the playfield. Good bright leds in the han solo playfield toy. Something different anyway.

Nick, who was the main designer you were thinking of who has joined the team at Jersey jacks. ?  !@#
Maybe they might get this one to be different hopefully. Maybe a different feel with 2 or 3 playfields ?
