my whitewater has wacky sounds and a 'splash' happening all the time,please can anyone help.the diagnostics says 'soundboard interface error' ^&^

Try re seating the sound roms.

did that,yesterday,even put new roms in for another machine.still no good.

can you help ken,is this a simple fix i could do myself,ie replace ic

try re-seating the ribbon cables - be careful as it is VERY easy to put them on one row out

I couldn't point you to any particular ic that could be causing the problem , you also need to be careful working on these type of boards as the traces are thin and can be delicate.

i have removed the board,and found this has been repaired before.not by me.looks reasonably tidy but they didnt remove flux so you can see what has been done.
do you still want the job,ken?i can post today.

i fitted my professionally repaired sound board(thank ken,skybeau)on the weekend.she is all good now.no error message,no constant splash sounds. $#$ $#$.seems someone had installed the wrong chips in it,hc instead of ls.ken is the man.top job. ^^^
