Williams System 7 Starts in Audit Mode
« on: December 30, 2009, 05:07:54 PM »
This morning when I turned my Jungle Lord on it came on in audit mode, tried new batteries and that didn't help. When I pressed Diagnostic Start on the mainboard it came up '0' (test passed) and started to work. So now nearly every time I turn it on you need to press the diagnostic switch and it works.

Check the battery holder if this is original i may not be making contact with the new batteries or there could be a dry solder joint

Looks like it was loose/dirty battery terminals.

Those battery holders on that system are quote testy.  As they are many times still the original they are prone to crack or separate at the contact area.  I found they start given program default issues they continue to be intermitten.  If it continues to give you issues in the future the best way to resolve is of course to go ahead and replace the holder.
The ramp business was very very good to me.

Check the battery holder.
I recently replaced a bad battery holder on a BK, The new battery holder didn't work.
I ended up having to install wires the bridge + to - on each terminal to get the 4.5v.
Pissed me off no end and was surprised that even a new battery holder had this problem. Weird.

Regards Cliff

I ound the problem, I put Eveready batteries in it that are metal cased. The clips that hold the batteries connect to the terminals so the cases of the batteries were shorting out the battery holder. Put some plastic coated batteries in and it's now all good.
