Nos T2 playfield
« on: June 25, 2016, 11:41:07 PM »
Pick up this gem today.   Should keep me busy for a little while doing a playfield swap.
My original pf isn't too bad. Just the cpu insert decals had come off. Was going to try get some replacement cpu decals and clear it but this came up.
Will probably still fix and clear the old one. Someone may need one. Apart from the cpu inserts it's a perfect p/f.
Don't know if they are hard to find but I snapped it up. Couldn't help myself.

A bit of history for you.
This playfield came from the infamous LAI auction in Perth back in the late ninties,
it was on a pallet with 6 other bare T2 playfields and 2 completely populated ones, all NOS
A friend of mine ,not the guy you got it from, bought the lot for .........wait for it.....$50.
Back in the day they couldn't give this stuff away.
There are horrible stories from this auction like NOS Kiss and Playboy backglasses getting smashed into a bin as nobody wanted them.
Boxes of NOS coils all in the bin ^&^

Wow! Think I know where the two populated ones are from that lot.
I removed the factory Mylar and got it ready for some clear. The Mylar came off really easy (thank god.). Was a bit of sweat going on.  Maybe it sticks more with use? I don't know.

Well its underway! New pf cleared so starting to strip the old one. Wiring was really clean so just zipped it to some mesh ready to drop back in place. Should go smoothly.
