here is a cool mod, not one for the purists but it does look impressive done by a pinsider - vdojaq.

he basically sand the cabinet, painted it black like a 90's dmd and then layed on some custom decals.

FAR BETTER than the std artwork package. If i purchased a beat up 1978 model, and it needed new cabinet art, thats the first mod i would do.

Does he sell them ?

Call me a negative old fart. I'm a pinball purist. A KISS fan / collector since 1977.

That is simply the UGLIEST attempt at a re-theme. I cannot Fathom "how" and "why" people desecrate Pinball machines like this. I recently saw pictures of a Playboy, and it was "re-themed" and looked absolutely disgusting. There was a similar re themed KISS in Australia years ago, and it was just as bad. No one wanted it.

The original artwork is timeless. There's something "special" about the original game's artwork. I don't understand why people just buy a BIG piece of wood and paint whatever they like. The opportunity to paint the original artwork was there as it was not originally a KISS machine. If that machine was "gifted" to me (no way would I pay for a re theme), I'd be pouring the paint stripper within minutes.

Each to their own. It would have been an impressive piece of artwork if it was on a wall or canvas. But it looks really bad on the pinball.  @.@
