I really appreciate your tip re colour matching Tony .. so simple , which is probably why it never occurred to me . Will definitely do the same when I repaint the cab on Lady Luck very soon.
I need more room ! and more $$$

Dave,

There must be at least 20 shades of each of the 'major' colours used on pinball machines, not just cab paint but also playfields and backglasses.

Once I did the match took the samples back up to the paint shop and they mixed them on the spot - was interesting to watch the different amounts of colours that went into making each.

Well after 8 WEEKS and a just a few cool beers she is finsihed.

Was only over the last 2 days that I felt like I was finally getting some place - after looking at the original pix on this post I'm sitting here just buzzing.

She came up soooooooooooo good - I'm stoked  ^^^

Will post some pix tomorrow sometime - all that is needed now to complete are some front door hardware from PBR that should arrive soon. Everything that could be bought for this beautiful old girl was.

Here is to hoping that it inspires just one member to want to find and totally restore a game of this vintage - they rock  *%*

So around 80 - 90 hours have been put into this beautiful old girl. I felt like it was finally coming together about 4 days ago.

This rebuild/restore seemed to take forever.

This shot is the game about to get moved back into the lineup.

Kinda cheated on the design - it's about 90% of the original design that came out of the factory in 1958 but slightly simplified the side art.

To say I'm stoked, well that is an understatement  ()

Sure can...here is the backglass and the playfield.

The backglass is a little faded but one of the best Picnic glasses I have seen, not that there are many kicking about.

The playfield was fully stripped top and bottom and rebuilt from scratch. All new bumper bodies, skirts, daisy caps, flippers and mechs, even a N.O.S. set of score and instruction cards was located!

The "1" playfield insert just infront of the roto targets was missing and even found a dude in the US that was parting out a playfield.

Had a one off set of playfield plastics made for her  &&

Yeah I am *kinda* - as anybody that puts so much time into their restoration they would like it better.

It was ALL done with a roller (different sizes) and the texture is real cool...you will see in 13 days  *%*

I'm keen for another repaint - and will do Gottlieb's Foto Finish from 1961 next....have a reproduction glass and Shay plastics arriving this coming week  #*#

One more shot of the front of the entire game.....also tracked down reproduction metal flipper surrounds that PBR no longer sells  #@#
