STLE flipper sticking
« on: August 09, 2014, 01:12:11 PM »
Have a weird one going on here. Left flipper is occasionally sticking.

Have checked up/down movement and seems okay compared to both RHS flippers.

Have bent leaf switch a little to check to no avail.

Have run coil diagnostic and works perfectly.

Turned off power when flipper stuck and it dropped back to normal position.

Doesn't seem to be any loose wires to coil.

Could it be coil sleeve? Any other things to fault find that I have missed?

Thanks for any and all suggestions :)

Change the coil stop it's probably magnetised

Looks like this:

Look up in your manual for the exact part number
If you swap it from one flipper to the other the problem should move with the coil stop, if not it's something else.

Im not sure by memory how to do it, but if what Boots said is the problem Im sure you can de magnatise them. Just google de magnatising.
I'm not cranky, I just want MORE pins!

Just some quick feedback. Swapped over coil stops and from the quick 5 min test both flippers seemed okay. Weird. If goes strange again i'll try the de-magnetise idea. Thank you all again :)
