Hi All,
Just wondering Who/where i can find the pinball "compendium" books in Oz for the best price?
I think there's 3 in the set?
While i'm here asking, are there any other book titles that are "must-haves" in the book collection.
Thanx in advance,
MM.

Hi MM,
I bought them and they are awesome. The perfect 'coffee table' book for your house. I'm pretty sure illawarra_steelers is the man to check with as I believe he is very good friends with the author.
Was in this thread too: http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=150.0
Not sure if the offer is still around, but the author has done a great job.

MM,
Contact the author direct, Michael Shalhoub. I have purchased all four books from him as well as a couple of pinballs, great guy.

Right on Tony,
Contact Mike directly, he sells them at cost and he will sign and dedicate. His contact email is: pinballmaster@ozemail.com.au
My first book was so well used the back and front cover FELL OFF. I often joke with Mike that I knowhis books better than him :lol
As mentioned he is a top fella and his books are inspirational.
For those coming to Expo, please come and say hi to me and I will introduce you to him.

Roughly how much are we talking each book? On a budget at the moment and wouldnt want to waste his time

I'd be interested in these books as well. Does each volume cover different eras of pinballs. I'd be interested in one that covers the 90's pins & onwards.

Extract from Mike's website
"When the book was being written it was planned to have it all in one volume. As soon as it was completed the publisher and myself decided to split it into three volumes, the first volume covering the period 1930's-1960's, the second book covering the period 1970-1981, and the third covering 1982-2005."
since this time he has released another book on EM's

Daniel,
This is off the top of my head, the first 3 books are priced at $45 - $60 each and the most recent book is around $90. Contact him and ask him directly

I have the first three, and they are well worth the money, great insight to the designers and others behind the games also.

He will also be selling them at Expo

Thanks tony

Hmm, didn't end up buying them as I didn't really have the money to spend at the time - maybe this year!

I've always been reluctant to answer this because it seems better to buy direct from the author himself, as I did at Expo. BUT if he is too busy or otherwise unable to respond, go to Amazon - he still gets a sale, but not as good as a direct sale I imagine.
The first three vols can be bought individually for less than US $40, all together for US $108.51, the latest EM one is US $65, add some postage to this and I have found delivery to be about a week. I bought "The Complete Pinball Book" by Marco Rossignoli from Amazon which is a good book too - lots of good pictures and talks about machines and how they developed over time.
