Title: Does this mean static electricity could affect your pinball??
Post by: spacejam0 on January 14, 2015, 07:08:23 AM

For modeling the effect of static discharge on sensitive electronic devices,

a human being is represented as a capacitor of 100 picofarads,

charged to a voltage of 4000 to 35000 volts.

When touching an object this energy is discharged in less than a microsecond.

Are you having a little trouble understanding this?

If so, the next photo should clear things up.  That is

definitely static electricity.

I used to get a static discharge every time I touched a door handle on a Commodore,  especially on dry and windy days.  Never happened on my Santa Fe or any of my pins.
