Out of that list, I would put them in this order:

1) STTNG
2) Addams
3) Dr Who
4) Black Rose

But really it is a personal preference thing... and they all have their own known problems.

My advice is to go and play all of them at least a few times each, and find the one you enjoy the most, but is also challenging.

Depends on how much $$ you have budgeted  &&

STTNG is over rated imho - as a package. Must be a "Trekkie" thing because the game puts me to sleep. However, it is a very well made machine

Black Rose - Under rated - Great fun. I love the pirate theme.

Dr Who - Fair game. I used to love it years ago, being a Dr Who fan, but I guess since I'm not really into Dr Who, the game has less appeal ?

TAF - I love TAF. Great machine. Unfortunately, it is a costly title, but it is the best game on your list

I'd go ;

1. TAF
2. Black Rose
3. Dr Who
4. ST TNG

Curious to know if you have played Scared Stiff, Circus Voltaire, Whitewater or Fishtales, Ian ?

There are quite a few pinballs in Tassie... I've repaired many for an operator down there over the last couple of years. I'll see if he has the ones on your list so you can go and play them.

That's quite an interesting list as it covers a wide gap of pricing.

I have only played Black Rose a couple of times, and it didn't do much for me. Nuggy has one and the Cannon is stuffed, as are **many** of them, and the repro that's out there is a disgrace. For that reason you want to be sure the one on the game you look at is as good as possible.

Being a major sci-fi fan, you'd think I'd like STTNG - well I don't - way over-rated as Nino says, and unless you are a real fan of the series, TAF for a little more $ is miles ahead. Dr Who is placed second for me as it's a decent game and due to price is the better game on a dollar vs game basis for me.

If you can afford a TAF then it is pretty hard to not like that game, it has so much going for it.

1. TAF
2. Dr Who
3. Black Rose
4. STTNG

As you can see Ian, it's definitely a personal taste thing... So go and play as many as you can before making your decision.

100 % correct..

Ian - I notice you have a Flintstones - TAF has some familiarities with Flintstones.

What did you think of Scared Stiff ? Was it as good as a TAF ?

I love CV, but I've "warmed" to Scared Stiff. Similar to TAF, but it is a "funnier" game..

Still after a project Strikes and Spares ? Great looking game..

Did i miss something in Dr Who??? What is there to get into in that game??
STNG - im happy to take everyone elses opinions on this title as i havent played it.
Black Rose - yep like the pirate theme and would place this 2nd to TAF,

My take
TAF
BR

Forget the other 2.
But even TAF - forever in the vault i found and i dont know - game play seems to come to a halt at some point and your left with the ball on the flipper wondering where to go next ( just like JD) - oh yeh - back down the vault.
Saying that though - would certainly love to own one but not at the price asked for it.

TZ not on that list???  Is on the top of mine,

Yep - its a personal thing.

Yeh AD in the paper is the way to go. I place one often. havent picked up anything for a while though.

Youll definately pick up project games, thats why they get sold on - game dies and sits there looking messy and eventually the wife wants it out. Divorce or seperation circumstances can lead to really cheap pins. i once picked up 2 for $10. Lady refused to take anymore money than that. Of course this was done to REALLY piss off the ex husband, his loss - my gain. My first 30's pin came from one of my ads too.

One problem here though - most of the sellers have scrolled through Ebay and are convinced that the pin is a retirement fund. As such, ive found that responses to ads have fallen dramatically or ridiculous prices being asked.

But heres a run down of some of what ive picked up through ads.

Lost World - $120
Zac magic castle - $170
Flash - $150
Firepower - $100 ( had termites!!)
Judge Dredd - $400

..and the best one of all .... Gtb Solar Ride + Gtb Top Score - $10

Good luck - i only posted this as i saw you are NOT Brisbane based - dont want too much competition!!! LOL!! ^^^
