Gottlieb system 80 edge connectors
« on: November 28, 2008, 11:27:47 PM »
The edge connector for A1-J6 on the MPU board has been replaced at some time with an

pcb edge connector, a bit of a messy looking job, and i will tidy it up in time with some heat

shrink tubing.

i was thinking of getting some double sided edge connectors and make up an A1-J4

connector how do you think it would go.

http://www.bigdaddy-enterprises.com/harnesses/harness-index.htm

Scroll down for the fully made up one for $32.00 US. I've bought from there before, sure saves a heck of a lot of labour!

J6 is a 19 pin connector. Hard to find, but I bought some for the rocky from GPE

Whilst ordering the connector from greatplains, might want to get some other parts.  Just stating the obvious but a system 80 will never run correctly unless you re pin all the connectors, there are no grounds done? the driver board is missing a transistor and that original battery needs to be removed from the CPU.

the transistor has been replaced, the battery is not original, ground mods still to do, the machine is up and running

the only problem is with the credit display not displaying properly,

the display shows all the numbers properly in the display test but segments are missing when displaying

credits.

No point trying to trouble shoot the machine until you complete all ground mods and re pin the connectors.

True, i just wanted to get it going first, not to worried about the display yet, the battery will be coming of real soon.

will replace the connector pins and do the ground mods, just need to find more time to spend on it
