Title: Innovative Metalworx
Post by: Pintoxicated on March 18, 2015, 10:22:50 PM
Guys,

Excuse the shameless plug but I have just started a bit of a sales rep role with Innovative Metalworx.  They are a very new business that can basically make almost anything you want out of stainless or corten steel as well as perspex predominantly using a laser cutter and your imagination.  If you can draw or design it they can probably make it.

Their specialty is decorative garden ornaments, fire buckets, signage, wall art/privacy screens.  Please check out their website and if there is anything there at all that catches your attention just shoot me a PM and I can give you more info if you'd like.

http://www.innovativemetalworx.com.au/products/ (http://www.innovativemetalworx.com.au/products/)  There may be some updating of the website going on at the moment so if there are any problems with the link, just check back again later.

Cheers,
Blair

Nice product and looks to be well designed. The lit Olympic style cauldron looks very impressive.

If I created a file in AI is there any possibility of them making perspex pinball toppers?  ()

Any particular file type that is required? AI, DXF etc.

Thanks for any info.

They can definitely laser cut perspex and I know they are looking into etching on stainless.  I will send through your question and let you know.

most lasers accept dxf files and you assign a shape a colour and layer so you can easily define what was going on. then when you prep it for laser cutting you assign a particular layer a depth (through cut, light etch, heavy etch etc)

illustrator can export as a dxf but I would check in drawing package as it normally won't maintain the same layers in the software transfer.

Draftsight offers a free cad package to trial and use to prep your files.

AI files are fine.  Are you able to send me a pic or design idea/file so I can send it to the factory and they can make sure they are able to do it?
